Does anyone have any suggestions on how to secure your tripod speaker stands in high winds ? I had mine down low (height) but a gust of wind came up when I wasn't looking and blew one over causing damage.

Is there a method to prevent this ?? Thanks

Adjusting the stand low was a good idea, but apparently not good enough. I can think of only two other suggestions.

1. Make sure the feet are spread as far apart as possible. Note that to do this, the support brackets attached to the very bottom of the poles should be level with the floor. Putting the poles higher or lower will pull the feet in to a narrower spread.

2. Consider bringing sand bags for each foot on the stand. The Passport speakers are extremely light -- 15 pounds each. If they were heavier, they'd be harder to hold upright and crash harder when they hit. But putting weight on the feet would make it more stable.
