Just recently rec'd a Passport 500 pro. I was wondering if I would be able to run a 50 watt amplifier head thru the Passport?

If your 50 watt amp has a line level output, then a 1/4" instrument cable should connect it to any 1/4" input channel (1-8) on the Passport just fine. Likely the Pad switch should be off (not lit). If you use channels 7 or 8, use the top input channel (left/mono) to get your sound out both speakers on the Passport.

If the amp has XLR instead of 1/4" (unusual, but stranger things have happened), then switch the Pad on, since XLR is more commonly used for mic level signals. The Pad will take the line level input down (20 db) to mic level so you don't clip the signal or blow speakers or amp on the Passport.

I hope your experience with the Passport is as happy as mine has been.

Note that 50 watts refers to the power sent to the speaker built into your guitar amp. Line level is line level, whether from the "Line Out" of a 50 watt amp, a 5,000 watt sound system, or a mixer with no speaker out at all.
