Hi, I bought a used passport 300 Pro to use with a vocal and guitar duo. I'm blown away by its superb sound and extremely pleased with it.
My only niggle is the fact that there's no input for a footswitch to turn off the reverb between songs for patter. My bro in law is an experienced electronics guy and reckons he could fit a jack socket to the rear panel to allow me to connect the switch BUT we need a schematic diagram.
Has anyone any idea where I can get one. Has anyone done a similar mod?

Cheers

Dave

Thanks, I just really need to know the type of Pot used to control the level of reverb.
I'll drop them a line

I though you want to modify to use a reverb foot switch ??
Why the pot ?

Because if the pot controls the signal we need to break into the circuitry to the pot and install the jack correctly to allow the footswitch to defeat the reverb.
If I can find out how the pot controls the signal we will have a better idea of what we're trying to do.
If the pot simply adds a the reverb signal over the top of the dry signal then it's easy, but if the pot increases the reverb and also decreases the dry signal to achieve the effect then by breaking the signal you lose the main dry vocal in addition to the reverb. :?:

Ok I understand ,

As you probably know on tube amp, reverb is OFF by a foot switch that put reverb ( tank unit ) output to ground .
Fot the passeport , I think it is an all solid state reverb , so I don't know how to do the switch off .

If I had chance I'll study the 250 schematic

I just looking at 250 schematic . There is a master reverb volume call VR30 A, it is a 100 k pot .

We can see that when the pot wiper is turn on the ground side , there is no reverb. I Think if you put this wiper to ground with a foot switch thats will do the job: No reverb.

You'll need a guitar shielded cable betwween passeport ouput jack ( to add ) and foot switch.

Wouldn't it be simpler to buy an inexpensive additional mic and plug it into an unused channel with the reverb turned off on that channel? Talk into the non-reverb mic for non-reverb stuff and sing into the reverb mic for reverb stuff. The cost of an additional mic, especially one that doesn't have to be good enough for singing or instruments, should be less than your labor digging into the machine, and it's less risk to the system.
