HELP! Just bought it last Friday... used it twice for Jazzercise (dance aerobics) class. One speaker not working.. how can that be?? We tried plugging it into the other "outlet" for the speaker and it seems that one "outlet" isn't working?

Thanks.

Please keep in mind that all we know is what you tell us. First of all, there are three different amps you might be talking about:

Passport 150 Pro
Passport P150
Passport PD150

If you have a "Pad" switch for each of the first three channels, that's the Passport 150 Pro. I'm assuming that's what you have, since I'm not sure Fender still makes the other two models. I'll start with possible operator errors:

You haven't mentioned anything about the sound source. If you plug a mono sound source into any of the first three channels, they should come out both speakers equally loud. If you plug a stereo sound source into the 1/8" stereo jack for Channel 4, it should come out of the speakers in stereo, assuming that the plug is fully inserted into the port. Plugging in part way will give sound out of one speaker and not the other.

If you plug anything into the "Left/Mono" 1/4" port for Channel 4, it should come out equally loud from both speakers.

If you plug anything into the "Right" 1/4" port for Channel 4, you will only hear it out of the speaker plugged into the "Right" speaker port on the back of the amp. The left speaker will be silent.

If you are putting a mono sound source into the amp and it's only coming out of one speaker, then you need to test both cables in the port that is working, and test both speakers in the port that is working, and test both cables in the port that isn't working. The idea here is that a bad cable could cause this problem. A bad speaker could cause this problem. A bad speaker port could cause this problem. You need to test to see which component is failing.

If it is the port, then you need to check out:

There's no sense in delaying Fender support by assuming that they'll read this Real Soon Now and fix the amp. This is a "public" forum. I don't work for Fender, and if your hardware is bad, you need to be in more direct contact with someone who DOES work for Fender.
