I recently purchased a PD 250 and understand my "signal" output options for a monitor(s). My question is if I use the Rev/Aux 1/4" out I sacrifice the inboard Reverb and turn the Master Reverb knob completely down and control individual channel output in the monitor with the channel "Rev" knob. My other option is the RCA Stereo Out adapted to plug in to a powered monitor with an inboard volume control. Is this correct or am I missing something? Also, will I be sending Reverb as well to the monitors if using.g the Rev/Aux out? I think I just confused myself. Hopefully my question makes sense.

Thanks!

You likely don't want to plug an external monitor into the "REV/AUX SEND". That is one side of an effects loop. Likely, if you plug a monitor into that, the system will expect a signal coming back into the "AUX/RET ST". I can't predict exactly what the result would be if you use the "out" without the "in" for the effects loop.

The design is that the effects loop allows you to take external hardware (like a graphic equalizer or an external reverb) and run your signal through that box and back into the amp. Your monitor will not run the signal back into the amp.

The PD 250's design is very different from the 300 or 500. It has a switch that shifts between stereo mode and Main/Monitor mode. Reading the manual, it looks like they expect most people to not use monitors, and instead use the unit in stereo mode. But you want monitors. So, you could flip that "B" switch and use "Left/Main" for your two house speakers and use the "Right/Monitor" plugs for up to two passive monitor speakers. But you have a powered monitor, which is something this unit wasn't really designed for. They weren't very common when the PD 250 was invented.

You could use the RCA plugs on the Tape Out, though you won't have volume control over this. You'll have to control that at the monitor. This would work really well with a Mackey SRM 150 powered monitor, or the Behringer clone of that same model, since they have two RCA ports that they combine on one of their input channels. You could use a regular RCA cable to connect the monitor to the monitor and use the monitor's wide-range input volume control for exactly what you want here. But you haven't mentioned what model of monitor you have, so you might need to work out a string of adapters to make this work.

I hope this helps.
