Hey guys,

I've got two P-250 systems that can be combined. They were being used for 2 different venues, but now they've combined.

Basically, I'd love to run 4 speakers off of 1 of the P-250 consoles. All 4 speakers are the speakers that come with the P-250 Passport. (I'm not sure how many ohms they pull). I've tried just running 2 from the MAIN jacks and 2 from the MON. jacks, but that doesn't play nice with the system. You hit a certain gain and the "PROTECT" light comes on.

I've been reading across the forum, but didn't find anything that really applied to what we're doing here. The best I've come up with is to possibly run a line from the 1st P-250 aux channel to the 2nd console (just one of the 1/4" inputs), and run the other 2 speakers off the second console.

Is this the right track? Or am I an idiot, and there's no way to do this? :) Just seems like a waste to let a perfectly good P-250 system sit in a corner and collect dust. Thanks in advance!

I have a Passport 300 Pro and a Passport 500 Pro that I often connect to each other so that each of them is running two speakers (a total of 4 speakers). Looking at the online manual for the 250, it looks like the same can be done with two Passport 250 systems, but likely with different cables. My units use a single 1/8" stereo patch cable. You'll need a pair of RCA patch cables. Most RCA cables come as a pair wired together into a single cord.

Plug all the inputs (microphones, iPod, instruments, whatever) into one of the two units and work the mix for the two speakers to your liking, following the advice in the owners' manual (which is actually worth reading). Use a home stereo grade RCA stereo cable to connect the Tape Out Left and Right ports on that Passport to the stereo In ports of either of the two Stereo In channels on the other unit. With that Stereo In channel turned all the way off, bring up the Master Volume of the second Passport to the same level as the Master Volume on the unit you already have playing two of the speakers. Now, bring up the Stereo In channel volume until it roughly matches the volume from the first unit.
