I recently purchased a Passport 300 to replace a Passport 250. One new feature I do not like is the built in compression. On the P250, there was no such thing. My church tried to use the P300 for a basketball clinic. They could not "pump up the volume" because the limiter kept clipping. Is there anyway to disable this feature all together??

At the basketball clinic, they hooked-up a CD player. Not a boom box, but one with RCA/Phono jacks. I ran it through a direct box and also just straight to the P300. The music still clipped. I tried both Ch.1 and the Stereo In 1/4" jacks. The music still clipped. Any suggestions?

What were your settings? If the clip indicator indicates that you are clipping, then you should adjust levels accordingly to make sure the pre-amp or power amp are not clipping. Are you just using it for vocals? If so, try increasing the mic level until just before clipping, then increase the master level - this will give you the most volume possible without running into issues with clipping.
