Hi! I'm planning on buying the Fender Passport 150 PRO for vocals (lead vocals and maybe one or 2 back vocals) for our basement band. We are playing in a 24x30ft basement with drums, bass and guitars.

I want to know if the Fender Passport 150 PRO will have plenty of power for our vocal needs. We are not planning on doing shows with it, just praticing and having fun with the guys.

Thanks!

Should be plenty of power for you. I haven't tried the Pro setups, but I had a Passport PD150 until recently (now have a PD250) that I used to DJ my son's wedding party. Room was probably about 70x70 or so and I never cranked it up near the limit. These Passports put out a lot of sound.

I have the PRO150 and the PD250.

The PRO line and the PD line are two different animals. Some other posts on this forum have details about the changes from the PD150 to the PRO150.

My experience is that the PRO150 is fine for acoustic groups or light emcee work, but it isn't going to keep up with moderate to higher volume instruments. If your practices are lower volume and controlled, you could make it work, but the PRO150 won't have the headroom for much more than "unplugged" use.

If your lineup is electric guitars, bass and drums at a reasonable volume level, I'd recommend looking at the PD250, currently available on closeout at several places. Tack on the online dealer discounts available from time to time and you're looking at almost the same price as the PRO150 ($399), but with a whole lot more capability. The PD250 has more mic inputs and more usable power than the PRO150.

While the PD250 isn't going to keep up with half stacks and pounding drums, it will be fine for practice space use at lower to moderate volumes and even a picnic/school dance/similar event if you're careful with amp and drum volume. (Don't forget the tripod stands to project the vocals or recorded music...makes a big difference.)
