Every year we lead a pilgrimage group of fifty people to the Holy Land for two weeks.
With such a large group, a portable sound system is indispensible.
Since 2004 we have been using a Passport P-10 Wireless system. It has worked very well for us, and each year the group comments on how much it enhanced their experience by making it possible to follow the leader’s narration.
One small problem we do have, concerning which I am hoping someone here on the forum can help us:
We use the system both outdoors and inside buildings — usually in large churches housing the shrines.
Sometimes while inside these large churches, there is a lot of reverberation or echo, which distorts the sound for the listeners.
Can you suggest a solution? Would increasing or decreasing the distance between the mike and the speaker help? Perhaps gather the group closer and simply decrease the volume?
Any help that anyone can give us would be most appreciated.
And thanks for a great product!

Hi,

We're glad you are enjoying your P-10W system! Regarding your situation inside the church, there really isn't much you can do here. It sounds like the reverbation/echo is a product of the environment you are using our product in, not of the product itself. Moving the unit closer to the people would help. Also, are you using this in a permanent setting, or just to describe the church you are in as you are passing through it? If there is a house system, you could try plugging the Line Out of the P-10W into the house system so it projects through those speakers which should be better optimized for the acoustic environment of the church. These are just a few suggestions, but unfortunately without being there it is hard to provide a solution for your situation.
