What is the best output to use when connecting 1270P monitors to the PD 500? I have been using the stereo output on the PD 500 to the amp in of the 1270p monitor, then daisy chaining to two other 1270p monitors. The only control I then have of the volume is the stereo level. The other night, at a gig, a sound man used the pre out/power amp in output, connected by cable to a direct box to connect to his large installed speaker array in the hall. This worked well instead of using our PD500 mains. Can I also use the pre out/power amp in to connect to monitors. Please advise.

Hi Charles,

The way you've used the monitors were a good solution. The pre-out/ power amp in is really meant for in-line compressors, eqs, etc. Or like your sound guy used it when using a house system but not needed the Passport power amp.
