Hi,

I have a Passport 500 and love it!

I've been using a 1270P powered monitor input to the "stereo out" and it works great.

I would like to add a second monitor to the set up, and my question is this:

Can I daisy-chain a Fender 1270 monitor (non-powered) to my 1270P?

According to the 1270P manual, you can daisy-chain another 1270P, but I'd like to avoid having to run yet another power cord if I don't need to.

Hi, glad you like the Passport 500 Pro and that it works well for you.

to answer your question, you would need another 1270P (powered version) since the power amp of your first 1270P can only power itself.

Thanks,
Ken

Thanks for the prompt reply.

So really, there is no way to use a 1270 with the Passport Pro 500, as the monitor MUST be powered?

No problem.

Yes, most if not all Aux Sends from any mixer etc. are passive and need a powered mixer. The only reason people use passive monitors these days are if they have a power amp somewhere else that they can connect to it. But this is independent from the Passport 500 and like I said goes for pretty much any mixer out there...

Thanks,
Ken
