Hi All,

This may be difficult to offer an opinion, but let's give this one a shot.
I live in a small town where funds are tight. I wanted to help our High School Baseball program and donate a sounds system/PA system. Our idea is to play music during the middle of the innings, Play a chosen song for our player as he approaches the plate to bat, and announce the game.

Does anyone believe this system is suitable for a high school sized field?

Can you add length to the speaker cable and effectively hear the speakers with an additional 75-100 foot additional speaker wire added to the existing Passport speakers.

Can you add a 2nd set of speakers?

Can you add a second set of speakers with an additional subwoofer too?/

Does anyone have a suggestion what piece of equipment I can connect into the passport that will allow me to view the songs available to play, choose the correct "Walk up to the plate" song for our players, etc.

I am a HUGE novice who is trying to contribute to our community. I simply have limited resources and knoledge on this subject. The local colleges have bucks in their system, so impossible for me to match that.

I hear some may connect a laptop etc with music loaded, etc., but nothing firm to help me.

Thanks for any assistance.

Keith

That is a tough question. Usually high school baseball fields are rather big, with larger crowds. I am not sure one 500 Pro would be sufficient to be honest. You cannot connect more than one speaker pair to it but you could use the stereo out to go into a power amp with speakers, a pair of powered speakers or into another 500 Pro.

Also, changing the speaker cable to 75-100 feet is not recommended. Lastly, if you're using a second 500 Pro you could easily add one subwoofer per 500 Pro.

Also, you can certainly connect a laptop or iPod etc to the 500 Pro.
