I bought this new. Arrived yesterday. Hook it up, hook up guitar, turn on. Green light comes on. Zero sound after setting levels appropriately. I plug into other amp and works fine. I know there h been some discussion on this, but I get no sound at all. I tried 2 guitars. One is a cheap Johnson withn built in pickup and the other guitar has a Fishman pickup that was installed.

Even before getting a pre-amp shouln't I get some sound?

I am sorry to hear about your problem. Did you try a mp3 player or something to see if there's sound coming out of the speakers? I know silly question but is the master volume knob turned up? Are the channel knobs turned up? You should definitely get some sound out of it even though you may need a DI box for the gain, but no sound is not good. Have you tried a mic?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Ken

OK, please let me know what you found out. Maybe the unit got damaged during shipping, I don't know. I am looking forward to your findings and sorry again for your troubles!

Hmm, what guitar is it. It sounds like to me that your guitar has a super low output. If the mic works the guitar should work too, even though you would most likely have to crank the channel level a lot to get sound out of it due to it being low level. Do you have a DI box that you can test with the guitar? Or do you have an iPod or other line level source that you could try? What is your channel level set to? Is the Pad switch on? If so make sure it is not illuminated since this is a 20dB attenuation. I am sure we can get this working. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Epiphone EJ-200 sunburst guitar with a Fishman pickup that reqyures 9-Volt. Battery is fine. It works when I plug it into Fender Frontman Amp. The other guitar is a Johnson Acoustic.Electric with a pickpu that came with it. It also works on the Fender Frontman Amp

Pad switch is off

I do not have an Ipod or , what other line level sources could I use. I am not even getting a green signal when I plug these in. Only initially for a split second and then it goes out.

I think you may have a faulty unit then. If you tried all 4 channels and they all behave the same. You should definitely see the input signal LED turn green when you're playing something with the guitar turned up. You can either contact the dealer and exchange the unit or contact our customer support. Without seeing what you're doing and you said you just bought new cables and they work using a Frontman, I think you have a faulty unit. I am really sorry about that, but unfortunately that can happen.

Hey J,

You can contact Comsumer Relations, but they may send you to a dealer I am not 100% sure.

Here's the contact info:
Telephone: (480) 596-7195
E-mail: consumerrelations@fender.com

Sorry again for your troubles and hopefully the next one won't have any issues. I would still recommend picking up a DI box (they're pretty cheap) because it will make your high impedance guitar sound less muddy and dull.

Thanks,
Ken
