Post subject:  Passport PD250 preamp replacement

Hi there! Apologies if this is a repeat post, I'm a little new around here.

I recently came across an opportunity to pick up an old Passport PD250 for free - the catch is that it needs a new preamp to function. Is it possible/sane to replace the preamp? Can I purchase just the preamp on its own, or would I have to find another Passport mixer/amp console and pull from there?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

IMO from Fender no .

I could be wrong, I wish for you.

Write to fender Consumer relation or see a Fender dealer.

Or look at E-Bay

What's wrong with the preamp ? Missing ? Some issue ?

Sounds like the preamp is just a dud at this point. I don't know a ton about the unit itself, but I know it's been in storage for a few years, so it really could be anything. Probably best to avoid it I suppose.

Sorry for the ambiguity and thanks for the reply!

If you like figuring stuff out and fixing stuff so that junk becomes useful, and you enjoy working with a soldering gun and you have pride in soldering well and feel sorry for people who make cold solder joints that don't work, then by all means, get this unit and feed your hobby.

If you want a functioning sound system, spend the money for one that works.
