I've been using the PP500 since it came out several yrs ago for my acoustic duo (2 mics, 2 guitars) and LOVE it. Has been a true workhorse!! Now the clip that holds one speaker to the body has broken (actually, the plastic has snapped off the wire frame it's attached to). Anyone know if I can get a replacement clip and replace myself? thx

I don't know that this is any kind of generic part that could be gotten from anybody except Fender. I'd contact a vendor who sells the Passport and see what options they offer. They should get you in touch with their Fender rep. My experience is that Fender tends to stand behind things like this.

I'm sure they don't want you out there feeling bad about having bought a Fender Passport, naturally inclined to say bad things about their products. They have a reason to want this fixed as much as you do.

If you can't find a local dealer to contact a Fender rep, check out their service options they post on their Web site:

The Passport is much less convenient to carry around without that clip...

Any electronics gears are built with parts made by other.

We can buy them from many wholeselers.

The electronics in his Fender are fine. His problem is a mechanical clip that holds the speaker to the mixer when the unit is clipped together like a suitcase, for carrying.

If the heavy wire has simply popped out of the hole in the plastic part, he can probably bend it out, reassemble it and bend it back. Otherwise, if the plastic part is broken, he probably needs a replacement plastic part.

I haven't seen any other units shaped like the Passport, so I suspect all the plastic parts are custom made for this unit, and Fender is probably the only source for a replacement, unless you are really good at wood carving and want to make a new part from a spare block of wood...
