Howdy!
My daughter, the lovely and talented Armadillo Teen has recently started taking bass lessons, after much brainwashing, erm...cajoling...threatening...ENCOURAGEMENT! Yes, ENCOURAGEMENT is the word I was searching for....

Anyway, I already had a bass for her to use, (a 1973 Ampeg Big Stud), but no bass amp. I refuse to allow her to plug it into any of my guitar amps, so practice has been a difficult affair...if you can't hear yourself, it's hard to improve.

I had been eyeing a used Vox T60 solid state (a recent model) at a pawnshop for a while, but when we went with cash in hand, it was gone. Oh well.

I found a used Fender Rumble 150 (1x15 combo) for $150.00...It is the previous generation (v2?), not the latest incarnation of the Rumble series. It's in dang near mint condition...is this a good price?

I liked the tone, the eq section, the Overdrive circuit, the casters, the looks (although the Vox was appealing to her Anglo-centric proclivities) and the preset "tone bump" buttons (or whatever they're called).

Because she's a skinny teenager, I didn't like the overall weight and size of the thing (I'll obviously be loading/unloading/lifting/transporting the thing for her, since she's at least three years from driving)...And it might be a little overkill for a practice instrument, but I figure it would be a good choice later in that it should be able keep up in a small venue/lower volume performance (which she wouldn't be playing for at least six months to a year).

Tell me if this is a good choice for our needs and your overall impression of the amp.

Thank you!
I saw the Amazon reviews previously but I hadn't seen the other two reviews.

I couldn't really tell you about the Rumble 150 from that series, but I always liked my Rumble 350 I've had since 2012, but of course that could be comparing apples to oranges. The 350 has two 10"s and 200 extra watts. If you come across one of those, they're pretty good, at least from my experience.

Well, we got.it and it sounds great...I tested it in-store with a P-bass, and it was more than adequate for what she needed...

When I brought it home, I tested it with our (my) Ampeg Big Stud Bass, and was duly impressed. I like the first "personality" button but dislike the second "mid scoop" personality setting.

The Overdrive is cool, but I wish it got just a tad more fuzzy (bass Fuzz might be the next purchase!).

Her impressions were similar to mine--she grinned like a cat in a fish market. We took the time to remove her hermit crab from.the room, for fear of killing it...the dog hid after the first few licks, so it's definitely loud enough!

I also plugged my Telecaster into it...pleasant enough sound (after some eq-ing), but I don't think it will replace my Vibroverb anytime soon.

Next test? Playing with a drummer to see if it will keep up...pics forthcoming!!
