I am looking to rebuild my 1972 Fender Bassman 10... 50 watt tube combo.
What is the best material to replace the particle board on the cabinet face....and...what speakers do I need for that vintage sound.....also...wiring diagrams for the speakers (series or parallel )

Welcome to the Fender Forums, didit. You are going to want to get in touch with both brotherdave, and Retroverbial about this project.

I had a 1977 Bassman Ten and always thought the baffleboard was plywood. Oh well. If yours is undamaged, leave it alone.

Do you still have the stock CTS 10's? If so they can be reconed. If not simply call Eminence in Kentucky and ask them for a recommendation. I'm sure that their Legend B102's would work out fine. http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Legend_B102

Only 2 speakers were in it when I bought it 25 years ago....baffle board was cut between the bottom speakers and a board slid in to patch the holes.....I know it can't be replaced to stock without destroying the cabinet....was thinking about removing the entire baffle board and cleating in a new one

There you go! If the drivers are original you could sell those. If you are not a competent tube amp tech (and I am not) do seek one out, as you are going to need a complete overhaul.
