I just got a Rumble 40 and I love the way it sounds. I'd love to play an amp like that through my white '60's Kustom bass cab. So, here's a 3 part question: 1 - think there'll ever be a Rumble 100 or even 40 head? 2 - it looks like the 200 head has a fan built in; is that so? I hate background white noise - that's why the Kustom head bothers me - total hiss when it's on. Do you think I could mod the Rumble 40 some day to play either the internal 10" or the Kustom cab (2x12" 8ohm)?

The fans in the Rumble heads are noiseless. I can't hear the fan on my 350 at all and no hiss through the amp. 500's & 200's are the same. You might want to pick up a 150 head for cheap, just as long as you don't want the voicing options of the new V3 heads.

I just checked used Rumbles at Guitar Center. They have 3 of the 150 heads for $150.

If you really like the front end of your Rumble 40 and $$$ are not an issue, then the V3 Rumble 200 head is an easy choice for $300. Also if your Kustom cab is 8 ohms and most likely is, you will want the 200 as it is 140 watts into 8 ohms while the 150 is only 80.

You know, I don't ever recall hearing the fan on my 350 combo. I've had a little hiss, but that could be because of my electricity in the house. I live in a house built in 1882 and a lot of the wiring isn't that modern, either.

I will say those Kustom cabs are pretty cool. I'd love to pair some up with my Orange head, but of course with some modifications.
