I'm in the market for a 410 bass cab. I play small/medium-size venues & going on short tours. I really think a Bassman 410 neo is ideal, but what about the Rumble 410? It seems just as powerful. Never got to play on one. Any feedback would help. I use a PF-350 amp. Just in the market for a cab.

The Rumble 410 is superb! It is easily the equal of cabs costing twice as much. Take your pick either way your a winner! :)

ROFL, Liinin, you crack me up. You should be ashamed of yourself, you shameless and transparent Fender promoter. When will you ever reform, you shameless hussy.

Milothreat, the cab you want will need to be chosen based on the duty and abuse it's going to see. "Tour" and a) lightweight plywood and b) fabric grillcloth may not be the best match-up. How the load-ins/out are being done, and who's doing them, should factor in.

Also, "lightweight plywood" is so wide open to interpretation and assumption that it's useless for anything except a red flag. I'd definitely want to chase that down & get more details.

I wasn't sure about the Rumble, sounds too affordable to be true. I need a cab that will endure wear/tear. I play out a lot. Don't need a full stack as I need it to fit in a car. But yeah, needs to be durable & powerful. My two mates use Fender 412 guitar cabs, so I know they're built great. I had a full Fender bass cab a decade ago & it was tough. If not a Rumble surely a Bassman would work? Like I said, a Rumble 410 sounds "too affordable"

I'd be perfectly comfortable touring with an Avatar B410 with the Line-X coating instead of any other covering and if I am going to be moving it myself I'd opt for the Deltalite upgrade. I'd go with the stock metal grill. That would be a pretty near indestructible and $724 delivered anywhere in the USA. I've been using Avatar bass cabs exclusively for over 8 years. I prefer Avatar bass cabs over any mass production cabs and even over the boutique Dr. Bass cabs I used before. Fender Bassman cabs are good too, but I think I get far more for my money with Avatar. If you want the Fender cosmetics they can do Fenderish Tolex and grill cloth on a B410 cab, but for touring I'd go with Line-X and the metal grill.

That Line-X coating is like a black spray on synthetic sealant that is super durable and worth the money, it is frequently sprayed aftermarket on truck beds and is "very similar" to what is sprayed on exposed submarine topside decking. Of course what they really use on the subs is classified, but it sure feels and looks like Line-X. Sorry USN.

Dave, good to see another Avatar user on here. I was going to suggest them but didn't know if it was allowed on a Fender board.

Apparently it is. Anyway the Bassman cabs would be more durable for touring than Rumbles.

I haven't owned any mainline branded cabs this century though. I was an Avatar early adopter after using another Boutique line I can no longer recommend because that other company takes your money and you wait a year or more and still don't have a cab which is not a good business model.

Avatar is the best buy I know of in customizable high power capable bass cabs for touring. Totally and completely happy with them. Nothing else comes close until you spend 2.5K or more per cab and even then, I'm not sure the more expensive boutique cabs are actually any better than Avatar.

I also used to like Marshall cabs but they aren't making any pro line bass gear now. Ampeg isn't what it used to be for sure. Even the USA made ones.

If you are looking for a brand name on your cab and are going to tour even in a limited fashion, I'd go with the Fender Bassman cabs instead of the Rumble cabs.

I'd steer clear of any vintage cab, as cosmetically appealing as they might be. In the past decade computer designed cabs to match the driver array have revolutionized bass cab performance.

Thanks for the info. I'm really leaning Bassman at this point. They're not as heavy & that's a nice option for me & seem very powerful. I like my Ampeg 15, but I remember when I originally had Fender 410s & they sounded beautiful. Maybe Avatar in the future if/when I get a bigger ride. I DO like being able to customize, but feel they may be too big for my car. Vintage looks awesome, but after tossing them around a bit may not look as awesome. Thanks for the honest feedback. Again, yous guys ROCK!

I've been gigging my 410 NEO for almost a year now. I CANNOT describe to you how much I love this cab. Sounds perfect. Weighs EXACTLY 45lbs on the nose. After almost a decade of lugging my two old Fender Pro 115s around at 62lbs a piece. Gaining the extra 10" of cone and more than cutting the weight of my rig in half has been a blessing. If you're gigging. The load in/load out benefits alone justify the cost. However, the cab really does sound out of this world. I cannot recommend the 410 NEO enough.

Where is the love button? Anyway, what King of Pain said, and he should know! :)

My 410 cab yesterday! Sounds as beautiful as I thought it would. It is exactly the same weight as my 115, and is a tad bigger, but loading the 410s in my car is surprisingly easier. Thanks in part to the comfortable, deep well handles it has...not flip out handles as this site describes. My band is going to have an all-Fender cab backline & that ain't not bad LOL Show tomorrow night, I'll let you guys know how it fares in public!!!

Ok, so my new 410s sound unbelievable. Didn't have any problem hearing myself on stage. The soundman kept asking me to turn it up, I'm guessing since it sounded SO good. Weight is easily manageable, sparing my back. Really happy I got such excellent speakers now. I did have buzzing from the guitar jack/cord where there was no buzz before, had to position the cord a bit until it stopped, so that was an annoyance. Otherwise, amazing speakers!

Update: Fender 410 NEO cab sounds amazing. Very pleased with this purchase. Only issue, the black vinyl covering is starting to come unglued at the seams in back of the cab & have only owned it for a month or two. What's up with that?! Otherwise, sounds very impressive & light-weight. Anyone in the market would do well to pick one up.

Yep. Fender's Pro Neo cabs are fantastic. :)
Just use some Elmer's glue on a Q-Tip and swab in between the tolex and cab body. Apply pressure and smooth out any wrinkles.
