I would imagine the whole thing would be awkward to begin with. It's not like I had some close friendship with any of them, that I even hung around anyone outside of school. There were a couple of people, but time and people move on, and you wind up going to other places, and doing other things.

I had some close friends that I carried on with after graduation, but they were some what like me. I knew, and got along with quite a few others in my grad. class, most of them knew in my senior year, and knew I wasn't the one to screw with. life was good. I graduated with the class, walked across the stage in the War Memorial Auditorium. Got my diploma, and went home. I was out in the world for good.

After New Year's, I'm going to go back to a Bassman 500 head, to go through the Hartke HyDrive HD210 cab.

Sounds good. 8) Besides, we'll be able to dust off the bass amplifier forum for a bit, since it rarely gets much activity these days. :P

The Bassman 500 with the HD210 doesn't sound bad at all. For me any way.

I don't see why not. Fender does make some decent sounding amps.

I'm going to be stretching it to get another Bassman 500. But they do sound good.

That's it. Many American Buckeroos!!! I'm about half way there for the Bassman 500.

Yeah, money can be a drag, especially when you don't have enough of it. :P

Very well stated Paul. I'm pretty much decided to get the Bassman 500, over the 800. It's 350 watts @ 8 ohms. The $200.00 more on the 800 doesn't balance out to get 500 watts @ 8 ohms just to play here in the house.

That's true. It's not like 500 watts is quiet, anyway. When I hooked up the Orange head to make a video for the guy that bought it to let him know it's working, I had to turn the damned thing down to around the 2 mark because it was loud as hell, otherwise. I had it cranked a bit from the last time I used it for a gig (and it still wasn't cranked that high) and when I took it off stand by, it startled my girlfriend in the next room because she wasn't expecting a blast of bass when I hit the strings. I forgot how loud that damned thing was.

I'm thinking about maybe doing another Ampeg SVT-212AV with the TX600. The Ampeg is a 4 ohm cab rated at 600 watts. The TX600 at 4 ohms is 600 watts. I'll have to listen to them all, and see what's up with them.

That's an interesting turn of events. What made you think about that one?

That was just a wild hair, I've decided to go with the Bassman 800 after all.
