It's here: http://www.vintagekustom.com/frame.html The earlier models were 100, 200, and 400. These were 150, 250, and 500. So I guess they jacked the power from 50 to 100 watts for the models. I see the 15" speakers are listed as J.B. Lansing models. Weren't you saying those were pretty good speakers?

The JBL, or Altec Lansings were great speakers!

I don't suppose you'd have any idea what the power ratings of those would be, would you? I'm going to be running the Orange head through that cab, so I'm going to have to be careful with it. Then again, it's not like I'd ever dime the thing, anyway.

Not a clue. I wasn't dealing with 1,000 watt heads.

That's true. They didn't exactly have those back then. If they did, The Ox would still probably have 10 of them. :P

It wasn't too much out of line for 2-3 amps being used on stage at that time, per player. Mountain used three Sunns each for West, and Pappalardi. Steve Knight used 1-2 Marshalls, and the Leslie cabs.

I suppose they had to back then, since a lot of that gear was pretty primitive, especially the PA stuff.

That pretty much that was it for back then, but the bands sounded great!

You may have really liked all the goings on back then. I sure loved it. It for me is at times a bit saddening that those times were only for a short time. But at least I was in them for that time. Image

I suppose it's like anything else that happens in life, things come and go. At least you did get to be a part of it, like you said.

Yeah,.............. I was part of it. I'll have to admit, even my three years of high school, and graduating at that time was the best for me.

I hated high school, but then again, that was in the mid to late 80's, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Not exactly a hotbed for some sort of happening scene, or whatever you want to call it. I can't believe that was more or less 30 years ago. It seems like another lifetime, actually.

I never went to a school for more than two years straight. So when I got into my third, and senior third year, I was king of the hill. I had an attitude, and a strut as I walked the halls. It was great! To this day, my 1970 Class Ring is the best.

I use to bring my bass to school, but I could barely play the thing. I used to also walk around to and from (I only lived three blocks from my school) with my boombox blasting Led Zeppelin tapes, before I even picked up a bass. I'm sure the neighbors heard me coming and going. :P I haven't seen anyone I knew back then since I was maybe 23 at the latest. I'm not sure if I even want to at this point in my life. I no longer lived down there, anyway.

I never went to any of my class reunions. I went to my wife's 10, and 20 year reunions. After doing that, I realized I made the right choice by not going to mine. I'd rather remember all of them, and myself, the way we were in 1970. Young, stupid, and wide eyed going out to the world.
