I still have some of the Fender case candy bags that came with some of the Am. Std.'s I sold. And maybe a few misc. parts etc.

I remember you having a few extra pick guards and stuff like that. You never know when that can come in handy down the road, as long as you have the space to store it in.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the Fender PG's. I think I have four Jazz, and three Precision PG's.

As much as I like the Super Bassman, I'm appreciating the Bassman 500 more as I play it. The amp setup is breaking in rather nicely. The Gibsons are doing great with the SVT-212AV. A Fender head, and an Ampeg cab. I like it. The Eminence 12's are breaking in fine. They have a really nice punch to them. Eminence speakers are doing pretty good as compared to the older brands that may not be around anymore.

Like we said before, the Bassman 500 is essentially the same preamp as the Super Bassman, with the exception of the power amp, so I'm sure the differences are minimal. I'm digging the Class D format, since you don't have to break your back hauling it, plus a lot of power.

Speaking of the Ampeg 2 x 12" cab, AMS has a dent and scratch model for $469.95 available. Knowing them, I'm pretty sure it's actually in excellent condition. My Orange head was sold as that, and the only thing I could find wrong was the box it came with was banged up. The amp was flawless. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind getting that 2 x 12" cab, myself.

That's a great price on the SVT-212AV. They usually run $699. I'm not always crazy for Ampeg heads, but I do like Ampeg cabs for that typical Ampeg sound that's pretty classic. The Bassman 500 has proven it's as sturdy a player to me, as the Super Bassman is.

The only concern I'd have with the Ampeg 2 x 12" cab, is it's 600 watts and 4 ohms, so I couldn't run any additional cabs with the Orange, or if we get the SVT 7 Pro, which are both 1000 watts. I'd have to be careful with that, but then again, I'd doubt I'd ever have to run it that hard in the first place. I'd rather it be in 8 ohms, so it would be better compatible with either head. I know it's suited best for your head, but yours is also 500 watts, as well.

If you were going to use a head more like the Bassman 500, no problems. A bit too much I would think, a 600 watts, 4 ohms cab, powered by a 1,000 watts, 4 ohms head. That's a heavy load for that cab. Two of those cabs at 2 ohms fine.

Yeah, but both of those heads won't do 2 ohms, unfortunately. If the Orange did, I never would have had to buy that Celestion speaker to change the cab to 8 ohms. Then again, I could have just gone with a different speaker configuration altogether.

I thought your Orange, had an ohm setting switch on it.

Yeah, 8 ohms or 4 ohms, so I can pretty much run full power into each, albeit 900 watts with the 8 ohms, not that the extra 100 watts will make or break you going up that high. :P No 2 ohms, though. I know there are a few Class D amps that do run at 2 ohms around these days.

For some reason, I thought your Orange had the 2 ohm capabilities.

Yeah, I wish it did, especially with it being 1000 watts. You could run two 8 x 10" cabs together and frighten small children and family pets. :P

Man, that would be a crusher. The hell with the little kids, and pets.

It's too bad they couldn't make those cabs as light as they can the head these days, but I guess there's a limit to what you can do with physics involved. Then again, we didn't imagine what they have now even 20 years ago, so who knows what the future would bring?
