Was it the one you just traded in to get the Bassman 500?

The Rumble 500 Combo, for the Bassman 500, and the Bassman 115 Neo. I kept the Bassman 500 head, and did the Bassman 115 Neo for the Ampeg SVT-212AV. I'm really glad I went with the SVT-212AV with the Bassman 500.

How did you even decide on the Bassman 500 from the Rumble to begin with? You decide that the Rumble wasn't doing it for you and you happen to find it at the shop?

Pretty much, I had the Bassman 500 head before. And with it being a separate head, I have a better opportunity to get to where I decided I wanted to get to. The Ampeg SVT-212AV. One cab, two 12's, and 4 ohms to get the 500 watts from the head of 350 watts @ 8 ohms. For me it just seemed to all come together before I actually realized what was happening. I had the Bassman 500, and looked at the Ampeg cab. The match up was there. The 115 Neo was good, but for me it didn't do it like the SVT-212AV overall. Sometimes things are right in front of someone, and not seen immediately.

I know what you mean, kind of like being hidden in plain sight.

It was right there, and I didn't see the matchup, until I think I mentioned it in a post to you about a cab.

After I posted that back to you, I sat here looking at what I just posted, that's the problem solver right there.

Yeah, it is. So you think this head is going to be a keeper, or you have your eye on something else?

It's looking like I'm gonna' keep it. It works fine, doesn't screw up like the other one I had. The sound with the Ampeg SVT-212AV is a great match up. The only other amp I'd ever consider in place of the Bassman 500, is the Super Bassman. I can't see spending the $1,000. more to acquire one. And have to put up with the 65 pounds, in stead of 17 pounds I have know.

Sounds good. 8) It looks like you might have a keeper, then.

If I ever did want to get a small amp as a back up for the Bassman 500, the GK MB Fusion 500 would be the only choice. A 3 X 12A X 7 Preamp. 500 Watts @ 4 ohms.

I may be selling the Bassman to a friend. He doesn't want to take a chance with any on the market, and he knows If I'm using it, it's ok. He's done so many favors for me over the years, and this is the first favor he is requesting in return. I'm thinking about the possibility of replacing it with the GK MB Fusion 500 after all. It may not happen, who knows.

You thinking about getting a Gallien Kruger, then? By the way, I posted this on the "What Are You Doing" thread, but when we get the cash for it, my girlfriend wants to get an Ampeg head for both of us to use. I'm still keeping the Orange, though. I'm pretty sure it's going to be an SVT 7 Pro. I think that has the best specs, or at least comparable to the Orange, and it's under a $1000. Sometimes, AMS has them really cheap (open box, scratch and dents, etc.) in stock, too.

I'm going for the GK as soon as they are back in stock. My friend is going to get my Bassman as soon as I can order the GK.
The SVT-7PRO is a killer head. It's one of the few 1,000 watt heads that has a headphone in it also.
