I know what you mean, it does look like your old school Fender design from the mid 60's. In a way, I kind of wish my Orange head has the old school enclosure, like their all tube heads, but that would eliminate the portability aspect of it with the carry bag. Although, I think I remember seeing somewhere that someone made a shell that you could put it in for that look, but I haven't explored that option, or probably will even bother with it. I wonder if that could be done with the Rumble series? You could do some mods, maybe change out the knobs, etc.

You think the deeper bottom has also to do with the tube preamp and bigger 15" cab, as well?

Not just the tube preamps, and the 15", but having the same design as the Super Bassman gives it the deeper bottom.

From what I understand, it has the same components/insides/preamp tubes/whatever as the Super Bassman, but a different power section.

The SB has the six Power tubes, and four Preamp tubes. From what I've seen, other than tubes, the insides are pretty much Identical in design.

Yeah, and you have the Class D power section, if I'm correct on that.

It's one of the deeper, cleaner class D 500's I've been messing with.

They must have a pretty good EQ section on it.

It looks like a simple layout, too.

Pretty old school on it.

I prefer it to drawbars on the EQ.

Yeah, it does make it a little easier to dial in, plus looks nice, I think.

It does look good, and the knobs are less likely to get inadvertently bumped as EQ drawbars can. The majority of the time I play in the Vintage channel, and it's more simplistic than the Overdrive channel. My playing really doesn't need the Overdrive used in it.

You know, the one thing I've noticed that it doesn't have, which usually the Fender guitar amps with two channels have, or had with the old school one, is there isn't a separate set of inputs for that other channel. Come to think about it, I don't really recall any bass amps that do that, unless it's the multipurpose amps from the 60's, or the original Bassman. Well, there's that Warwick 1000 watt head that had two separate channels, and those old Peavey Mark IV's (or other Marks) that did. I can't think of any other ones, at the moment, but maybe there are.
