I am thinking of buying a Bronco 40 bass amp in the next few weeks.

As I live in a small flat and do my recording late at night, I'd like to know if it's possible to bypass the speaker when sending the signal out via XLR to my Apogee Ensemble interface.

If I put headphones in the jack to bypass the speaker will the signal still be sent out via XLR for recording without annoying my neighbors? Or is there another way of doing this?

Any info would be appreciated. Looking forward to getting that Bronco soon.

Yes that will work. Also going USB direct into your computer. The Bronco 40 has a ton of great sounds and is perfect for recording.

Bronco is a good amp. My main Rumble rig is my go to. The bronco is both back-up and a place I can go when I want to get lost in experimentation with all of the amps and effects. New tones lead me to new creative paths.

Thanks for the answers guys.

I got the Bronco 40 today. Looks real nice. Played a bit and got the Ampeg/SWR sounds I was looking for, even recorded a couple of takes via XLR into Logic, bypassing the speaker by plugging in some headphones. Great sound. Works like a charm. Everything I need.

Also picked up a Super Champ X2 special edition yesterday for my Strat. Loving that as well.

I love my surf green SCX2 also. Had it for two years and bought it after my Bronco. I pleased to be spoiled enough to enjoy a few niche amps besides my work rigs.
