So I recently purchased a Fender Rumble v3 500 Combo and LOVE IT! I was originally looking to add the 1x15 extension cabinet but would really rather add the 4x10 cab instead. I’ve looked and can’t seem to find anyone that’s done this. There seems to be a lot of people using the 500 Combo with the 1x15 cabinet, is there a reason nobody has the 4x10? Would it not work?

You can run any speaker / cab you want if the speaker impedance is always matched to the amp output impedance .

Next questions ;

1- check speaker power to not blow them .
2- do you will like the sound ?

The NEW Fender Rumble 410 is 8 Ohms and handles 500 watts, so it is good to go with the 500 combo. You can use any 8 Ohm cab with the 500 combo that had handle about 250 to 300 watts minimum.

Probably more people are using the 115 because it is cheaper, lighter and gives you the old school 2x10 + 1x15 effect which is probably one of the best indoor tonal arrangements ever for medium sized rooms but not so good outdoors. The 4x10 cab would be way louder so long as you don't mind the extra weight.

Avoid the old Rumble 410 cabs, they are 4 Ohms and won't work. You must use an 8 Ohm cab with your combo.

Thanks for the replies and advice guys! I went ahead and went with the 4x10, and it’s AWESOME! I played the 500 combo in the store and I played it with the additional 1x15 and I was blown away, I tried to do it with the 4x10 but they didn’t have one in stock so I ordered one from amazon (minor addiction…) and hoped for the best. Man am I pleased!

Thanks guys!
