Been using Ashdown ABM 500 for past 10 years - it's become my signature sound with a Fender Jazz 4 String ( playing rock, pop and Motown style stuff ).
In between tried an Ampeg SVT 7 Pro - not my cup of tea - always feels like it's choking even with the ultra low engaged. Don't be fooled it's 1000 watts but only in the first 3 strings. I'm not a gear snob but i feel their reputation is based on their big daddy amp - although their 610 cab is great.
Decided to try the new Fender Rumble 500 Combo for smaller gigs and practice. Wow - straight off the bat amazing Round natural sounding tone. If a touch more aggression is needed just add a little hi mid. Deceptively loud for something only weighing 18 kilos. Playing simple 8th notes on the E string becomes additive because of the pure tone.
I don't bother with the bedroom sound ( contour ) or vintage buttons but hey each to their own. Where have I been - other than the awesome AM std P and J basses I had never considered Fender in regards to their bass amps. But if this is their tone, I'm definitely in the near future investing in the Bassman Pro series. Jeez I'm even using the Fender 7350 strings - as are all the top guys around here.
Cheers

The Rumble amps are wonderful. I have a 350 head and it sounds good through whatever cab I play it through. It has a musical quality to its amplification. First heard a Class D SS amp trying an Ibanez Promethean bass amp and few years ago to try out a bass guitar. It was the amp that caught my attention. The Rumble sounds as good or better and is more affordable. After years of suffering with a GK 800RB and its synthetic transistor tone, the Rumble is sweet music to my ears. Best bass amp I've ever owned.

Yeh couldn't agree more man. The GK from my experience is great for a quiet first instrumental set at a wedding gig - after that ( when the party starts ) it sounds like cardboard.

Welcome to the Fender Forums, candycolared. I've not had the pleasure to play through a Rumble 500 yet. Super glad you are enjoying yours! I agree with Modwiz about the Rumble 350 being the best solid state bass amp I've ever owned or played.
