I just picked up a Rumble 100 v3, to most likely be my main rehearsal amp.
I am pretty impressed by their tone, versatility, price, and hugely important for me, the WEIGHT..

I am looking for any particular configurations or settings others may be using, to achieve certain tones. Has anyone seen any threads already with that kind of thing?
I was kind of surprised the manual didn't come with any suggested configurations..

I will using it for a variety of musical styles (jazz standards, classic rock, occasional funk/slap). It's obviously fairly easy to fool around with it and get some good tones, I was just curious on any particular settings others might be using and to get some sounds they enjoy.

Obviously the type of bass matters, and the settings set on them too.
I will mainly use a Jazz Bass and a Stingray..

Hi davwir! Great question. Fender has designed the Rumble EQ section to sound good straight up at noon for the tone challanged. This isn't actually flat, but sounds to me a lot like a 70's silverfaced Fender Bassman 100 set super clean, and has that fabulously fat Fender Sound.

The only difference in the EQ section from gen2 to v3 is in the low mids. Going from 400Hz down to 280Hz. Bass; Treble, and High Mids are all voiced the same.

This thread should be a big help. http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=73385

The shape buttons are all new configurations on the V3's. 'Contour' replaces the old 'Scoop' and is tweeked a bit differently, but does the same mid scoop that some find useful for slap.

The Overdrive is identical, and very useful.

Here's a hip thread on Jazz Bass tone settings 8) http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=87492&hilit=+Tone+Settings+

 Rumbles Rock!
