Hello guys.

I'm thinking in buying a Fender Bronco 40 for record some music but also for play with it on stage (small gigs).

Can it be good on stage?
I play in a pop/rock/country/blues band... We are a trio. The amp of the guitar is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III, will it be a problem for the Bronco 40?

40 watts solid state amp for bass player , 10 inches speaker .

IMO not enough power for stage use .

Fender's Bronco 40's are excellent personal bass amps, and you have chosen wisely.
If you are plugged into the PA + into the floor monitors for the others to hear, you'd be OK. Your Bronco 40 might be loud enough for your personal bass monitor, but no one else will hear it very well.

For band work with a drummer you would want to take a close look at and audition some of the new version 3 Rumbles. The Rumble 100 1x12 combo would be considered a minimum power rating for the volume required. Rumble 200 1x15 combo would do the job with ease. Rumble 500 2x10 combo is the flagship. All are getting rave reviews. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/fender-rumble-club.970397/page-57

Professional bass player modwiz hasn't been around for a while now, but he loves his Bronco 40 and started this thread  http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=84950 He made a live recording with a drummer and has a link posted.

I have my Bronco 40 and love it as a personal amp. The octavizer effect is just so much fun. It worked well in rehearsals. After my first gig out with it, having to run the xlr out into a power amp to power bigger speakers, I bought a rumble 350 the next week. As with some Mustang 1's and 2's the Bronco has an amp selection switch that moves very easily and sometimes jumps from one amp model to the adjacent one.

I would seriously counsel you to consider spending 50 dollars more and getting the Rumble 100. You can still do recording with xlr or effects send out. Only usb recording will not be available. I prefer xlr/line out recording to usb anyway. The Rumble 100 is the amp, in that price range, for a gigging musician, not the Bronco 40, IMO.

In another month or so, Fender should have their Summer sale, (shareholders permitting) and the Rumble 100 would be 250.00. :D Although, 299.00 may be short of their 50 dollar discount. The Rumble 100 is a lot of amp for 300 dollars. Once you experience the Dyna-comp Fender bass tone, you'll be hooked. The Bronco has an adjustable compressor that is not as sweet sounding to my ears. Dyna-comp is a magical ingredient that Fender Rumbles have. It is selling a lot of amps.
