So it looks like the new Rumble V3 amps are out now (?); anyone try any out yet? I'm intrigued by the new design, mostly based on the fact that they seem really light relative to a regular bass amp (the very affordable 100W is listed as 22 lbs.; the just as affordable 200W is listed as 35 lbs). After dragging around my current, not that big, really heavy bass amp for the last few years (a 180W Behringer), I'm really considering giving one of these new V3s a go (I mean, ya know, assuming it sounds good, but I have no reason to think it wouldn't).

That being said, the last Fender bass amp I had (probably a V1 Rumble 40W a long time ago) did randomly blow out after a year or so; I ripped it open, replaced the blown fuse (which is vastly harder to do than it had any right to be), and it worked for a little while again, but then blew out again at the exact moment that a dude was trying it out to buy from me on the cheap, so my history with Fender bass amps isn't *that* spectacular.

Any actual info on the new V3s floating around?

You've come to the right place! New Rumbles are just arriving in the U.S.A. and Europe. Tons of info & video in this thread ->http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=91658

Quite a few early adoptors are members in good standing of The Fender Rumble Club with several Rumble 500 & 200 owners there. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/fender-rumble-club.970397/page-30

Rumbles are selling faster than Fender can make them. Pre-sales were surprizingly strong, and continue to pour in, as ordering and getting in line is the only way to get a new version 3 Rumble bass amp right now. You will be fortunate indeed to find new Rumbles on the showroom floors of your favorite music stores by late May or early June instead of late April as was previously reported.

As much as I love my Rumble 75, I wouldn't hesitate to order a new Rumble 100. It's power; wieght, and size are all very attractive not to mention the handsome Fender retro-styling.

So I just picked up a Rumble 100 V3 to replace my current amp from my local guitar shop. So far? Awe. Some.

Full disclosure--I'm not a bass virtuoso. I play, like, Pixies, Ramones, and The Clash garage band music. Tony Levin once said about my playing "Huh. Well, your technique is horrible. But you can keep time, so that's good…", which I hold dear in my heart. I'm not a gear head. I just like playing and not sucking.

This amp is surprisingly powerful for a 100W. It has a lot of versatile sound settings. It is *incredibly* light. It has a headphone jack that *isn't* a 1/4 inch input! Did I mention how incredibly light the thing is? I could, like, hold it with 3 fingers while running down the street. Not even 25 pounds. Sounds awesome. I love it.

Now I just gotta unload my old Behringer.
