Finally got my Fender 2x8 neo cab. It is so compact and light. The sound coming out of it alone is impressive for what you are looking at. It will be perfect for small rooms and settings. Works great with my 15" cab. Very happy with this purchase. :D

Very Good! I was wondering if you received it in. Image Congrats, and best of playing with it.

It is also working out very well as a cab for my tubemeister. It fits in a corner right behind me. It is too bad the neo line is being discontinued. They were pricey for their retail life. Real happy with the funeral price.

The thing of it is (or was) that they were very competively priced. Also no one had a neo 2x8 cab at all! I almost bought a pair of those vs a pair of 112's. I still could. After all it's only money, or in my case additional debt on CC.

Sounds good. 8) I've been curious about those, since I've never even seen that type of configuration in person. It's too bad they dropped them and the 12"s. They could have just changed the speaker grill to match the new series. I suppose it didn't meet their "profit quotas" or what ever they call it. :P At least it was a good deal for you.

So, a little more on the cab. This part of my equipment is another of my 'intimate' setting pieces. Although the tone is solid to an open E note, the smaller speakers do not "own" a room in the way a larger speaker can. A single ten is about the limit, to my ears. The 2x8, at least this rumble neo cab, is a very versatile cab. It sounded great with the 1x15 and handled the full power of the 350 like a well built and designed bass cab should.

It also makes my tubemeister nice a beefy. I am still smiling over this purchase. :D

That's good to know about this. So you'd say the 2x8" configuration is less beefy sounding than a 2x10" configuration? More of a treble or high end sound?

I'd describe it as "less present'', although there is a 'beef' difference. The less beef is desired by me in some settings and that is where I would use the 2x8 cab as a stand alone. My stand alone 15 would be the next step up. 2x8 plus 1x15 for certain performances and lastly, the 4x8 with the 1x15 for real stage presence.

All powered by my Rumble 350 head, which is a very respectable piece of bass gear. :D

The engineering and speaker usage of the 2x8 neo cab is something fender can be proud of. It is surprising how much bottom it has for its size and weight. The design of the cabinet is well thought out.

Oh yes, it has those little magnetic dimples to rest a rumble head in. It was a nice feature on a tolex amp. My 'rug' cabs are like velcro.

Well, now I can get the general idea of this cab. It seems like speaker development has come a long way. It's funny how it goes from one size to another and back again. I remember when 18"s were around a lot, but now you're lucky if you can find anyone that makes them for bass guitar and not sub woofer systems.
