Hi,

I hope someone here can help! Neither Fender nor SWR support answered my email requests for help.

I am looking for a wiring schematic for the mains transformer primary connections. I live in Europe (France) which uses a 230v supply. The SWR handbook states that it is a relatively simple rewire on the primary taps. It also suggests contacting SWR for further information.

I have not yet opened the amp up as it is with someone else at the moment.

I have now written twice to each of Fender and SWR and no reply. Is this normal customer relations in the U.S. - or is this confined to Fender/SWR?

Anyway, If someone has a schematic or knowledge I would be very grateful! Perhaps it is self explanatory when I open the chassis up?

Many thanks in advance.

SWR is a dead company. Still Fender should be able to locate a schematic for you. Give them time. There are some technicians here that may offer advice.

Yeah, good luck with that, though. I wouldn't exactly call Fender's Customer Service "premium", at least with my experiences with them. Of course, your results may vary.

Have you tried here......?

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/

There are many SWR owners registered and it's possible one of them may have the schematic you need.

What Model SWR amp do you have? have you gone to this SWR online link,.. the manual for each model on this link also has a block diagram.

It is my understanding that FMIC will only supply amplifier schematics to techs at service centers. It is company policy. This is said to be for the personal safety of amp owners and their view is that only qualified technicians should be working on high power amplification. They do have a point there about safety, but it is inconvenient if you are using a tech who is not at a FMIC service center. If a tech writes them they would have a better chance of getting a diagram. If I write them I probably won't get a diagram since I'm not an electronics tech.

Since I don't know what country you are in then I have to add this. If you are out of FMIC's support territory, which is the USA and Canada, then you might need to route your request through a local Fender dealer in your country who will go to the distributor for the territory where you live who will get it from FMIC or in fact may actually have it.
