Yes......it's a congenitally-inherited trait, passed from my father to me. It served him in good stead when dealing with hayseed hillbillies and moonshine-addicted morons whose collective intellect *might* fill a thimble.

*MIGHT*

I used a Traynor 200 Combo a few years ago. A good solid well made amp.

I hung on to the Fretless and sold the Olympic White Am. Std. J & P basses to get the Midnight Blue 4003. This kinda' rounded out the family. Two long scale, (fretted & fretless), & one short scale.

I think you should also get a lime green BC Rich Warlock bass in all of it's 1987 glory and make sure it has one of those Kahler bass tremolos! Sometimes you just have to keep your band mates on their toes. :P

Or better yet,...get one of those Gene Simmons Axe Basses that are made by Cort.. :)
You'll make a statement & you'll always be the topic of conversation. :)

Yep I had a feeling they were sold off for the Midnight Blue Rickenbacker 4003 ... I've seen the Midnight Blue Rickenbacker's at Long & McQuade they're nice basses.

Yeah, if I ever get the cash to get one, a Rickenbacker is definitely on the want list. Both guitars and basses.

Speaking of Traynor, I always thought those were nicely made amps, as well as the Yorkville ones before they went back to their original name. I thought it was cool to have something different than the usual brands and not exactly cost an arm and a leg to get one.

Last year I took a 4003 to Nashville to do studio work. The big deal was, look, a 4003 with Nylons. At first, until we started to work some tracks. They liked the 4003/Nylon combination.

That was why I bought the Traynor head in late 1969. Fender Bassman heads were just a bit out of the price range for me, when I really needed one. The Traynor came through.

Likely you got a better amp with the Traynor. Bassman's are great platforms for guitar but I've never found them to be credible for their intended purpose.

The higher priced Bassman got (The Lord of Loud)Jim Marshall to come up with his "Marshalls".

The 5F6-A tweed Bassman was the inspiration for Jim Marshall's first amp.

Yeah, I remember Pete Townshend talking about this in some interview somewhere.
