so do the new 200 & 500 Watt heads replace the ol' 150 & 350 heads?.....are they no longer available? ..or can they still be found as the stock runs out?....I've been sitting on the fence to get a 350.......I'm sorry, but those new heads look blah....ugly white cheap looking knobs......screws on the front like a grade 10 Shop project from 1970....sorry to be such a downer, but I don't get it IMHO...I am also sure there will people who will "love" the retro look of the cabs, (I like them just as vintage gear) but I like the industrial-in-your-face grille where you can see the speakers, but silver sparkle grille cloth?.....been there done that, where is the imagination, innovation......and no speakon/1/4" combi jack.....sigh

Yes they do, so get while the gettin' is good :) Same goes for the cabs. Both Neos are history and not many are left in e-tailers stock. AMS looks to be your best bet.

I like the parametric type of middle control the 2013 Rumble 350 has. I find it a very good shaper for that part of the sound spectrum frequency. With overdrive, the need for a master volume and gain is a matter of opinion.

If they made a hemp speaker cab, I'd be right there with a credit card.

I Knew Fender was going to update the Rumble line for Naam 2014
http://www.fender.com/series/rumble/
I personally like what I see, ... There's a combo for every need & I'm liking the Rumble 500 head,...& the vintage style cabinets,...(though I'm not in the Market for an amp)
Linin you're saying all Rumble models prior to 2014 are being fazed out/ ..... Fender is showing both models in the Rumble section. :)

The 500 watt is the direction most bass heads are going to. I wish this head was available a month ago. I would have jumped on one big time.

I think it was the right design move to do for the Rumbles. The removable speaker grill gives access to the speakers without having to remove part of the cab. Every time a screw on a cab is loosened, and retightened, the cab it is slightly fatigued, and more apt to rattle. This design will give greater cab strength, as well as an easier speaker access. I know the grill cloth is ancient history, but I've seen, and had to many metal speaker grills rattle in low volume studio situations.

Yeah, I noticed that too James. Maybe Fender's Customer Relations lips will loosen up a bit after NAMM, and we can find out the official FMIC position as I am just guessing. :o

I wish it was available about 6 months ago. I'll just have to like what I have. I do like the new stuff. Just not good for GAS management.

The funny thing is I actually thought of trying to find a way to modify my Rumble 350 combo to look like an old school Fender amp with the silver grill and logo. Now, it looks like I don't have to with that new 500 combo. I'm not knocking the black design with the metal grill at all, but the classic silver has always been a preference to me, as far as Fender amps go. I can understand why people might be tired of it, though. Everyone has their own flavours.

If you want the older designs, they still got them and yeah, I find AMS a great place to do business. They have excellent payment plans and a 45-day guarantee, which they do back up. I've had to unfortunately use it, not at fault to them. Another thing, if they do discontinue those amps, watch for them there and you can get them dirt cheap when they are trying to get rid of their stock. I got a brand new bass that way.

What is really irking me a bit is that the new 500's are the same price as the 350's.
Although I did get my 350 for 50 dollars less because I bought it during the 10% Fender Summer sale.

Oh, WTF.

It's just technical crap, but I'm also curious about the power module on the new amp. Is it the same one? The 350 was actually conservatively rated (it even clocks in at over 400 watts on the schematics) and reading about the old power module, those were usually around 500 watts. Another thing is that this one can run an extra cab, so I'm assuming it's running at 8 ohms eternally and the original combo was just 4 ohms. It's probably around (judging from similar combo specs in the past) 300 to 350 there and the full 500 with the extra cab. Like that would be anything wimpy if they are using the same module anyway. Well, I suppose some of the boneheads on that other bass site who think anything under 1000 watts is underpowered would disagree. :P

Most definitely. Years ago, I've played through an old Peavey Mark IV through a 2x15" cab at 210 watts in 4 ohms (never tried the 2 ohms at 300) at that was pretty damned loud. It might not have the prettiest tone, but you could hear it. I've also ran a Gallien Krueger 800 RB through a 2x18" and 2x10" Sonic cab system at that was 400 watts total. I never had to crank that thing, although one time I did to see what it was like and I actually felt the bass hit me in the chest. That thing was massive, literally. I'll bet all of those big cabs have a lot to do with that with the volume, too.
