Anyway, I'm liking what I'm seeing with these. Now to convince the other half (I do have the strong advantage of playing music with her, though) that we should get one of these. Actually, it is good to have an extra amp on hand, especially for gigging an we could use another amp for the Schecter Ultra VI (which she'll be playing mostly, anyway.) Soooo....

Sounds like you've got a plan.... :) Good Luck!!

Yeah, we just spent a good chunk of change on new instruments and some other stuff, so it will be awhile before that happens, anyway. Actually, I think a good time for this would be the annual rebate sale they seem to have. That way, you can shave off an extra $50 or so off the price. At least the idea is open.

Keep 'em coming Linin I'm enjoying these Rumble video clips,.. :) I honestly don't need another head or Cabinet but I'm thinking that at some point this year I may pick up the Rumble 500 head,I'm stoked by what Fender has done with this series......The Rumble 500 would sound sweet with my SWR Golight 4x10 4ohm cabinet. :)
Linin are you GASsing for the Rumble 200 combo with 15" speaker. :)

I agree 1,000% that the Rumble 500 head would totally rock your SWR cab! To my ears that is the sweetest sounding 410 ever made by anyone anywhere. :)

15" woofers just don't do it for me anymore. I'm sold on the sonic superiority of Neo magnet 12's. They reproduce the lows better than 15's, and mids better than 10's. So for serious bass beef it's Neo 12's for me. 8)

I've been around for a bit. The Rumble 500 Combo looks very good to me. I'm redundant in this, but Fender did the right thing since they did away with the Bassman Combos a few years ago. I also like them not using the carpet on the outer shell. I have the head/cab side of the street set, so I wouldn't be GASsing for them. But again, Fender is in the right direction.

Fender definitely is moving in the right direction with their current line of Bass amps..
I agree that Fender did the right thing getting rid of the line of Bassman Combo's,....I had a Bassman Combo 150 that had a 12" Eminence speaker, I bought it new in 2006
it did a good job but it didn't blow me away sound wise...... then in December 2009
I bought a SWR 400w Headlight & 4x10 4 ohm SWR Workingpro Cabinet ..wow!!
I still say wow !! when I plug it in except I now use the Headlight with my 4x10 SWR Golight cabinet that I picked up cheap 6 months ago at Long & McQuade ....... My SWR 750X also sounds pretty sweet with the Golight cabinet ..... as I said earlier I'm not in the market for a new amp set up but I know at some point in this next year I'm probably going to pick up up The Rumble 500 head,.....at $500. it's a nice piece of equiptment to have as a back up.

It just hit me what would put me over the edge for a Third Generation Rumble. Either a 2X12 500 Rumble Combo, or a 2X12 Rumble Cab. That would be the blast from the 60's Bassman Cabs.

Funny you should mention this as I noticed that Fender is not offering a a 12" speaker cabinet with the current Rumble line,....they also did away with the 8" speakers,.......I think we're going to see both current generation & last generation Rumble products being shown in the Rumble amp section until Fender has gotten rid of all 2009-2013 Rumble stock.. IMO I'm guessing Street price for The Rumble 500 head will be $399.00 that's insanely cheap as to not get one....& the 500 & 200 Combo's are a bargain!

2X12 Cabs, or Combos are Killers. They have the 1X12 100 watt Combo, but like you said, no other 12" offerings.

Hmm, a 2x12" Rumble 500 combo would be a cool idea. I remember Carvin use to make one, but discontinued it and Orange makes one now. Theirs have/had one of those systems (can't remember the name of it) where one of the speakers was rear projecting. I remember Ampeg had this cab years ago like that with two 15"s and two 10"s. I demoed a Godin fretless semi-acoustic bass through it and talk about low end from hell. I was surprised because the thing was small in size.

Speaking of bass amps, I've been paying attention to the NAAM reports and there is a $@!& load of new bass gear coming out this years, besides Fender. Wow, talking about having a selection! It's a great time to look for an amp, I think. I remember years ago the pickings were slim, especially for certain price ranges and features. It's up to you on what you want, but at least there is choice.

I'm still partial to the Fender line, because I like Fender amps, even though I've had bad luck with the basses (not because they ever sounded bad, either.) So I'll be keeping an eye on the 500 combo for my next amp purchase and I'll keep the 350 as a spare and/or another use. It's good to have a spare or two, anyway. I'm thinking of the combo, instead of the head because of practicality and economics. It's cheaper buying the combo instead of a head and a cab, plus you can add an extra cab (for me the 15", because it will be like my old set up of 15" and 2x10" configuration, which worked for me) and will be essentially a stack that way. That's if I need the extra cab, but it's good to have options.

Of course, this will have to wait, anyhow. Maybe like James Coderre mentioned about June. I'll bet they'll run another rebate sale again. They have for the past couple of years. It's not like I need the thing right now, despite what G.A.S. tells me. :P

At the end of the 60's 2X12 condos were around. I had a Kent, until I bought a Traynor head, and started building 2X12 cabs.
