I can only see the new 3rd generation Rumbles being well received,...... they're well thought out & incredibly well priced,...... I believe they're now being made in Indonesia.
I'll probably scoop up a 500watt Rumble head at some point,..... as I've said before I'm in no need of amplifier gear, but at their going price they're a screaming deal. :)

Oh James, you just put a thought into my head that will probably cost me money. At least I'll end up with another fine amp.

Well, it looks like you have slightly different EQ options than previously, which isn't a bad thing. I suppose the proof will be in the pudding when it finally comes out and people put it through it's paces. Now it's just a matter of waiting.

As soon as the line came out, the first thing I noticed was the different EQ. I was in a rehearsal studio and they had some SWR amp there. I could not get a tone I liked, or my singer liked, no matter what I did. I have an Ibanez SR600 bass also, with 3 band active Bartolini pups and still no sweet spot. With my Rumble finding my sound is effortless. It sounds good at a flat setting and just improves form there.

It must be the "secret sauce" Dyna-comp.

I've been guilty in the past of putting money costing ideas in people heads..
but it's true with regard to the Rumble 500W head,... I believe the going price is going to be $399.00 ....that's stupidly cheap for a decent head that comes with a gig bag,....you can always bring it along as a back up.

I wonder if Fender will have their usual Summer sale. Getting one for 350.00 would be super sweet. I'll keep my eye on Sweetwater this Summer. The first ones available might move fast and get Fender the numbers they need to to be able to include it in a Summer sale if they have one.

Back up or slave is an excellent justification for GAS. Thanks.

I think Fender will most probably do the Summer sale this year,.... they've had it for the last 2 yrs in a row & it looks like it might be becoming an annual event & it's a good marketing strategy to move product during the summer when sales usually slow down. :)

Yeah, don't forget about the Summer sale, like you said. The one thing I do like is the fact they now have a 15" cab. I'm still old school, I guess and like that, despite the fact there are other options that sound good. I wish they had the option (like some others like Carvin, do) of the 15" for the new 500 combo, besides the 2x10". Nothing wrong with 2x10", but I miss that configuration. I suppose there is the option of the head and a couple of 15"s, though.

I have bought a fender product during each sale too. My Rumble 350 is a case in point. My Modern Player Jaguar is the other.

Rumbles are selling faster than Fender can make them! A nice 'problem' to have. I wonder how many will be in music stores by summer '14? I was going to go to Richmond to audition the combos next month, but may have to wait until June. 8)

Yeah, I think a lot of stuff is supposed to come out around summer, besides Fender. That seems like a feasible time. It's been a really busy year for bass gear in general, it seems.

I can't knock Sam A. to bad. I've done ok with my local store. A lot better than than the local GC. I don't even go in the local GC any more.
