I like what I see. I find the new design more pleasing than the current one for the heads.

The only thing I saw that is a bit off on the new Rumble 410 cab, it's 8 ohm, not 4 ohm.

That's right Mr. N. The 200 & 500 combos are now 8 ohms also and have 8 ohm extension jacks to add a cab, so both the 410 & 115 cabs are also 8 ohms. The 500 2x10 combo on top of a 410 cab is a very serious gig rig, or the 500 head with 2 @ 410's, or the ever popular 410 on top of a 115.

Likewise if you love 15's: a 200 115 combo ontop of a 115 cab. Need more power? Rumble 500 head with 2@ 115 cabs.

No Neo Rumbles. Want Neo speakers? Step up to the Bassman Pro cabs, or instal neo woofs yourself. Expensive either way.

I was referring to the 500 head. I looked on the back of the 500 head. It's a 4 Ohm head. So to get 500 watts using the new Rumble 410 @ 8 Ohms, Two cabs are needed.

That is correct.

Time to start saving. I like what I see regarding the combo. Everything in back and the overall look is very appealing.

I hope these come to my GC soon!

I'm glad the Rumble series cab is a serious construction now, using real lightweight wood, in place of the MDF Board. It's now lighter, and stronger. Image

I'm actually hoping to have one made of paper mache shaped in the likeness of Richard Nixon's head and painted DayGlo psychedelic colors. It will be my special tribute to the counter culture movement which pretty much died out by the time I was born and my friend Ellis Dee whom I haven't seen in 20 years. Either that, or give everybody terrible nightmares who witness it and remember the horror of what was. :P

Seriously though, I did notice that the 500 combo looks taller than the 350 I have. I'm wondering if the 10"s in it are stacked diagonally?

I think you're right on about the 500 2X10 having the speakers on an upward diagonal slant. It makes more sense for the sound not getting pushed into the floor. The amp is less likely to need a stand to raise the sound up.

Yeah, it makes sense when you look at the design of it. I'm also wondering if the Genz Benz 500 watt combo (which I believe has a 2x10" diagonal layout, besides a 15" version) has any influence on the new amps, since they own the brand now?

Some of the positives that we know so far are:

1) New Retro Look Mimics Bassman Pro Series. I like it. You may not. I also still like the modern look of Rumbles I now have and the "Fender Bass Amplification" badging. So I guess I'm either easy to please; open minded, or both.

2) D-Class ICEPower on the 40 & up Rumbles. At the moment this is state of the art.

3) Shared front end on the 40 & up Rumbles. A newly re-engineered pre-amp.
3.1) Channel Gain & Master Volume replace the simple single volume control of Rumbles past.
3.2)Bass: Low Mid; High Mid, & Treble controls are the same layout as current Rumble 75 & 150. This is something that I like very much. We'll have to wait and see which frequencies they are voiced.
3.3) The very musical & usable Overdrive is thankfully carried over.
3.4) Old 'Shape' buttons of Punch & Scoop are gone and in their place are: Bright; Contour, and Vintage. These could be much fun especially the Vintage if it emulates a Silver Faced Bassman 100.
3.5) They all share the very same FX send & returns and XLR out; headphone & aux in jacks.

4) The Rumble 200 & 500 combos have an 8 ohm extension speaker output jack.

5) Lighter weight plywood construction replaces the heavy (but very functional) all MDF cabs of the past. This has both pros and cons in and of istself.

6) Eminance brand woofers vs the old "Fender Special Design" woofs of yore. I see this as simple semantics and marketing manuvering. Eminance has a factory in China as well as Eminance, Kentucky and it was widely suspicioned that Eminance's Chinese facility was Fender's source of 'Special Design' drivers. Eminance enjoys a well earned reputation for excellence, and Fender is wise employ that rep in their marketing.

Yeah, I like the new layout (like the old one, too so it's all good to me) and the new features. The old overdrive was nice (not something I use a lot, though) but I like how they added the new set up for it.

That's funny, until recently I didn't even realise that the 350 combo was made with MDF (didn't pay attention, I guess) and I actually found the amp to be quite light weight in comparison to older amps I've had which were plywood. If the new ones are plywood and that's supposed to be lighter, then that's even better, at least where that's concerned. As far as tonality, I've had no qualms with my current amp and I've never been in a situation where I'd compared the properties of both materials. To me, if it sounds good, it sounds good, so that's up to others to debate.

I'm thinking if I get a new amplifier for what ever reason, it will be most likely the 500 combo and the 15" cab as an extension, if needed. The reason for this is I like the convenience of a combo amp, and with the ability to add a speaker, it would be like a stack, anyhow. That would be an ideal set up and with the power to back it up, if needed.
