I was chatting with a young bass player at a local music venue last night. He also has a Rumble 350 head, and was waiting on a Rumble 410 to be shipped. 500 cabs were recently imported (last week) and are all gone. He was on the waiting list for a month and didn't get one, so he canceled his order. He told me that the customer service rep at Guitar Center told him that Fender has discontinued the Rumble line.

Fact or Fiction?

May be incorrect info from the GC person - I don't have much faith in the high turnover sales staff and incomplete training taking place at GC.... at least locally.

Still offered in the website link at the top of this page >>>

The Rumble 410 cabs are very popular and sell like hotcakes. Quite a few folks are embarrassed to be seen using Rumble gear, and remove the Fender Bass Amplification badge. The Rumble 112 Neo cabs are also out of stock right now.

That's too bad about not wanting to keep the logo on the amp... :(

The higher power Rumble equipment is every bit as reliable as the solid state Bassman series that they replaced.

An old retail "trick" if something has a long "back order" wait time. Tell the customer it has been "discontinued". The hope is to trigger a purchase of something else that is "in stock" today.
Still, I hope it isn't true, I have been saving my pocket change to get a 410 for my Son. As I sit here thinking about it,the prices I've seen them at lately, now makes me go hmmm.

Is anyone seeing Rumble 410's on the used market??? How many and for how much $$$???

I never see any, but I don't ebay. $300 new/shipped from any major e-tailer. Can you find them used for $100-150 shipped??? For $200 used + shipping you're far better off to buy brand new.

Be careful of cabinets offered on any online outlet... Speakers may look OK in a photo, but may have a piston that rubs on the voice coil and is bad when you receive it. Colleague of mine found that out the hard way and Eminence speakers are not cheap to replace.

I wouldn't take much stock in what anyone that works for Guitar Center said. They could have just been bullshitting because they were too lazy to look up anything or didn't want to help, or were just an idiot. If Fender were going to discontinue the Rumble line, then what will they replace it with? The only other bass amps they have are the new Super Bassman and that 100 watt version, plus the last time I checked the Bronco. Not everyone has the budget for a $1500 or $1700 head (never mind the price of the cabinets) and the Bronco is only a 40 watt combo, which would be tough to use in a live band situation, unless they're on the quiet side.

I think this amp is one of the finest I've used and I've played through professional gear and am playing in a professional situation. I wouldn't certainly be embarrassed to use it live at all. Then again, I generally don't give a damn about what other people think, especially morons who think they are gear snobs. People need to learn not to act like sheep so much. It's ridiculous. Your average non-musician fan wouldn't even notice what you are using, anyway. As long as you do a good show, that is all that matters.

A few points made. All well stated.

Absolutely NOT true. The 4x10 cabs are in high demand. Fender would be nuts to discontinue them. Nobody can keep them in stock. I could see a price increase being justifiable in this product due the high demand and limited supply. Next shipment is due in early to mid February. Sweetwater and Musicians Friend are taking pre-orders for them. MF says a ship date by Valentines Day. The clerk was obviously misinformed.

Removing Fender badges? I thought that was only done with Peavey & Crate bass cabs!

I like the higher power Rumbles a lot. That 350 2x10 combo is absolutely one of the best sounding combos ever and creams anything else in the price class.

The 410 Rumble cab is to me the most sensible of the Rumble cabs. It is the one-cab solution for a Rumble head and one of the best cab values around but it isn't the best bass cab around because it is a budget product. It reminds me a lot of an Avatar in basic design, but the Fender Rumble drivers, horn and crossover aren't as good plus the cab is MDF instead of solid birch plywood.

You can get a stock Avatar 4x10 cab for $489 plus $55 shipping. They also have upgrade options like Neo speakers, fancy grills, piping and colored Tolex covering or Line-X coating. If ordering now I'd possibly get the Neo drivers with Line-X cab coating with the stock metal grill. But I'm pretty well set for life on cabs. I don't plan to move big rigs much anymore and can barely drag the stuff I have now around. I actually haven't gigged with a cab stack in almost 3 yrs.

I just checked American Musical Supply and they have the Rumble 4x10 cab in stock. I have yet to have any issue with ordering anything from them, so I'm pretty sure they have them. If they were to be discontinued, or probably weren't selling, they wouldn't be listed on site. I've noticed they pulled a few things like that in the past.

I will say, if I actually had the 350 head, I'd love to blast it through an old school 2x15 cab. I never owned one, but have used them in rehearsal studios. I used to love the low end and tonality from those, especially with a P-Bass with flats. I'd even settle for two 15" cabs stacked, if I couldn't use the 2x15. If I can swing it, I think I'm going to do that someday.

The one listed in the link below is an import, but it seems to have what you want.....

Oh yeah, I've seen those before. Modwiz has a couple of cabs with that brand. Hell of a price on 'em.

I have their 1x15 and 4x8 cab. I bought one of their better 15's to put in the cab. The diameter of the speaker was a little larger than the stock cab opening so, I had to enlarge the opening with some very unsuitable tools but, got the job done. Very respectable sound for the price. I have my eye on better and more customized cabs but, these two do a very good job. Very happy with the tone I am getting. I would like to turn off the horn in the 4x8 but, there is no cutoff switch. Might try disabling it to see how it sounds. :?:

I never been a fan of those cab horns, either. I don't like excessive treble because I have a tendency to get "clacky" sounding with it.
