I read the manual on the old version of the Rumble 15 that the headphone jack can double as a line out. I was curious to know if anyone knows if the headphone jack on the new version has the same feature?

I read the manual for it and it didn't seem to mention this. If it does, that would be ideal because I wouldn't mind picking one up (the price is ideal) for my office/old school ghetto 4-track studio set up. It could serve double duty for when I feel like playing through a practice amp and could use it to lay down some bass tracks for when ever I get a song idea. Plugging the bass straight into the 4-track isn't the greatest choice for me and I do love the sound I get through Fender amps.

Well, if that doesn't work with the new version, then I'll have try something else. I know the Behringer BT108 has this feature with the jack, as far as what I'm looking for. I don't want to have to mic anything when I record, either. That wouldn't be practical with the set up I have going here. It doesn't, nor I wan't it to be expensive or elaborate, either. That would be ridiculous, since I have access to a professional studio and have pro gear. This is just some little thing I like to do when I'm hanging around the office.

of course you can, but it's going to be a very hot signal. Strong enough to drive headphones to a decent volume level. You'd better have a good trim pad on your channel, or you might just blow it out if you're not careful.

Be mindful of the input as to whether it accepts trs 1/4 plug or mono tr plug. A converter plug will fix the problem if there is a mismatch. As Linnin cautions, proper attenuation of the signal will probably necessary.

Yeah, I have a Tascam Portastudio 424 4-track (kickin' it ol' school :P ) that has a decent trim knob and all of the other goodies, so I should be able to handle that without any mass destruction. I just wanted to know if would even work. That's good to know that it can. Plugging the bass directly into it sounds sort of blah and I know either a DI box or an amp with a line out would definitely help. I'd prefer the amp option if possible so I can utilize it for practice, since my Rumble 350 is too big for the purpose I have in mind. Besides, it's already set up and being utilized elsewhere.
