I purchased this, along with the 3x15 cabinet a few years back from a friend who needed some money to pay off some medical bills. Since, I have searched high and low on the internet and have not come across another Bantam Bass head only.

This amp sounds amazing, and from everything I have read about that weird styrofoam trapezoid Yamaha built speaker, I am really glad that I don't own the combo. My question is- is this a custom order? Is there a possibly just a Silverface Bassman that someone replaced the cover with the Bantam silver cover? Or, do you think someone just chopped off the bottom and put tolex on it to make it a head only, instead of a combo?

Has anyone else ever seen JUST a Bantam Bass head stand alone? If so, how many of them do you think are out there? Because I can't find a single one, anywhere (I did find a single a you-tube video where a guy took the amp electronics off of a Bantam Bass head and put it in a sloppy box, but it doesn't look factory like mine does... and that is it in my exhausted research).

Anyone with an idea of value, or information, I would appreciate it greatly.

Best, -ej-

You have a Bantam Bass Amp chassis that someone stuck into a Bandmaster Reverb head cabinet (both of these amps, along with the Super Reverb share the same chassis dimensions). The power tranny (P/N 022798) and choke (P/N 022699) are "borrowed" from Fender's Pro Reverb Amp, while the output tranny (P/N 121848) was specifically designed for this model. The amp is designed for an 8-ohm load so wire your speakers accordingly.

Thank you!

What would you consider a reasonable resale value? If I were to sell the head w/ the 3x15 cab?

I am only curious because I am deciding on selling one of my bass rigs- Either the G&K BassBase400 w/ Ampeg 4x8 and Ampeg 2x10 Classic cabinets- or this new set-up.

I wouldn't consider the Bantam Bass Amp to be a credible bass rig regardless of what cabinet or speakers were included. The amp does make for a very tasty guitar rig though, once that Yamaha POS is unassed and a proper guitar speaker or two is substituted. One of our esteemed forum members here has two such conversions -- one configured with a single 15, the other with a pair of 12's.

Thanks again. Greatly appreciated... I will get it biased, then toss it into the rotation with the Tiny Terror and Ampeg Jet- I recently sold my USA Hot Rod DeVille, so having a little more umph than the 15W'ers will be nice.

I know very little about what I'm holding on to with this amp head- now I'm pretty excited about seeing what kind of work I can get out of it.
