OK Fender Bassmen & Basswomen what do you think about this Eminence 12" Neo woofer? You Likey? $110 + shipping from U.S. Speaker or Parts-Express.

http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=Basslite_S2012

Thinking seriously of poping one of these into my Rumble 75!

The Eminence 12" Neo is a great 12. If everything matches up with the 75, go for it.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? That tiny box, plus the fact that we're talking only a single twelve, don't leave much room for improvement.

You should run a WinISD (or similar) model on the combination before you proceed. Even though at first glance the driver seems like it might work, there's no real way of knowing for sure until the model is done. You'll need cab internal dimensions (H, W, D) and port dimensions (H, W, D). Cab dimensions should NOT include the port area, i.e. the cab H is from the bottom of the amp shelf's bottom to the top of the port's stop shelf.

Eminence neos -- most of them anyway -- have a really nasty high-mid response peak. The Basslite is one of them. You may like that peak or you may not. If you're a slap player, it can be an advantage because you get some free treble. If you're not, then you'll probably want to EQ all that gank out of there. Problem is, making that happen can be a real pain in the butt, because many/most tone controls don't hit that area accurately enough or hard enough to have any real benefit. Plus you'd be expending/wasting at least one amp tone control on correcting a cab/driver anomaly when you could've used that same tone control to fine tune the sound of your instrument had you chosen a driver with a flatter response up in the mids.

For that reason alone I recommend against this mod.

Yep. Right about 1700Hz. So does the Delta12. Their graphs are almost identical. The stock 12 also has a high mid peak as I'm running my high mid control (1200Hz) at -6db. Since Fender is running the Eminence Neo in their Rumble 112 cab, I thought it would sound good here too 8)

 I did look at closely and consider the FaitalPro 12FH500-8. Nice fairly flat response curve. $280 shipped!

Traditional wisdom may dictate to "leave well enough alone" and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but I am a contrarian at heart, so modification is always the order of the day. :)

The Sonic Barrier is also here. So I intend to start the modifications tomorrow.

Will take some photos of the procedure and post the best

I just noticed this post, and since you bought this speaker, there isn't a point voting. I would have said go for it if you want, anyway. The thing is though you'll probably void your warranty on your amp, but since you have the 350 head, and I assume this isn't going to be your main rig now, then to hell with it. Mod away. I'm curious to hear about the results of your work on it.

Other than voiding the warranty, it won't hurt to try it. I don't expect better sound but expect lighter weight. I figure about 7 lbs lighter. I use both Deltas and Basslites in a bass stack. Honestly I can't tell much difference in the sound but in a critical use like a 3 way speaker I'm sure some people could.

Mine arrived defective. Many dirty words. On Monday I'll call Eminence and let them hear them for themselves.

Just got off the phone with tech support at Parts-Express. Speaker is definitely defective, so back it goes for a refund. Stock woofer will remain.

Well, that's good that's being taken care off. Are you going to try to get another one?

No, I'll just leave the stock woofer in place.

I've been in contact with Eminence themselves, and sent the woofer back to them.

They just got it and tested it and sent me this email  "WOW Linn. That speaker sounds horrible and I really don’t know why. I’ll get that replaced for you ASAP."

So, a NEW Neo woofer coming soon to a Rumble 75 near me!

Good deal! At least they are going to help you out. So now you will be able to complete your mod work.
