Hello Rumblers! ... i have a question which i'm sure someone can steer me toward a solution to... I have a 350 Combo ... how would i connect it to a 1x15 cab perhaps, via the XLR output ... i have seen those cables that have XLR on one end and a 1/4" on the other ... could it possibly be that simple? ... or will i need some kind of amp between the 350 combo and the 1x15 to power the 1x15? ... any suggestions are greatly appreciated! .... thank you!

You will need to power any extension cab. Rumble combos aren't designed to do that. The easiest way for you to add a 15" woofer would be to get a Rumble 150 combo. Go from the effects out/send from the 350 into the effects return/in on the Rumble 150. BINGO-ZINGO you've got 2x10 over a 15 and 500 watts to boot.

The Rumble 150 was a good idea. What Linnen said would also work with any bass amp that has an effects return jack to push a 1x15 cab.

I'm offering that info in the event you already have the cab. If you do, just buy a Rumble 350 head! Another benefit to going either way is you'll have a backup. If you go with the Rumble 350 head you'd have 700 watts instead of 500. The 1x15 would need to be 4 Ohms and need to take 350 watts too though.

You know, there was a time not so long ago when 700 watts was more than twice as many watts an entire band could unleash as the total wattage output of all instruments combined. (2 guitars at 50 watts=100 watts, 1 bass at 100 watts, Hammond B3 organist with a 40 watt Leslie. That is 240 watts.

No wonder all drummers now have to get miked up even in small clubs.

Has everyone gone deaf? Louder isn't always better, just louder.

You can also use the XLR to slave another amp, too. Run it into the main input of the other amp, while plugged into the amp you're using the XLR output with. I've done this before with excellent results, as well as running the effects send/out from your main amp into the main input of the slave amp. I've never tried going into the effects return/in, though.

OUTSTANDING! ..... I want to thank you all very much! ... I should mention, that i have not a clue as to what i'm doing! .... everything is a learning experience for me. Although i'm not in need of Godzilla size volume ... i would like perhaps a little more deep low in the show , so to speak ... and thanks again. I appreciate the advice!

No problem. I've actually had the same idea, but with an 18" speaker. Not for volume, but for that extra boom. I always loved that combination of the two types of speakers.
