Thanks James! :)

I did a lot of research and the intel in this thread is what made me go ahead and pull the trigger. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=88309

I was going to wait and see what upgrades Fender might have at Winter NAMM, but the fact that the power amp of the 350 was soooooooo good and used by so many other bass amps. All of them costing much more and some over twice as much. There was no need to wait especially at a price of a dollar-a-watt :!:

:!: :!: :!: SHIPPED :!: :!: :!:

I don't have any cabs to play through, so headphones will have to do. I do go to a weekly jam called 'Electric Tuesdays' and there is a 2 X 15 Trace Elliot cab there that I will plug into. But I will hold off on any kind of official review until I have some Rumble Neo cabs.

To me the wattage is all about the tone & headroom; the umph, the grunt, the bark, the snarl, and the growl. Not the volume. The Rumble 350 has a stellar reputation as a superb sounding bass amp. I'll Take It 8)

Yes I remember that thread from Monday,.... I was impressed to find out about the B&O power amp in these units,....at first i was disappointed that the Rumble 350 Head didn't have a tuner out feature on the back but while reading the owners manual for the 350 I found out that you can plug a tuner into the FX send (& not use FX return)
thus the FX send becomes a tuner out,........ I gotta try one of these units, they're a lot of bang for the buck & the Rumble 350 head also comes with it's own handy gig bag
I keep hearing that these units are loud!! The Speaker combo I'd use with this amp is the Rumble 4x10" cabinet or the Rumble Neo 2x8 cabinet paired with a Rumble Neo 1x12 cabinet... Hey did Sweetwater pass on the Fender Rebate... :)
here's the Rumble 350 Manual:

I have been using my Rumble 350 and 2x8 and 1 x12 cabs for several months. I find them to be very adequate and very user friendly. They sound good to my ears. That being said, I believe that any combination of 2 2x8s or 2 1x12s would work well too. I am a fan of this Rumble gear!

Cool! 8) It was a good time to get one, too, since they are discounted with the rebate. I think the pair of 12"s would be a fine choice.

If I were to get the head variant, I'd probably go with the 4x10" cab, since it's probably similar to my combo, but with an extra two speakers, and I'm accustomed to that sound. I might actually pick up another 350 combo down the road as a back up, or in case I'd need to slave the two together for whatever reason. Then again, if they ever came out with a 15" cab (well they do have the Bassman one, but it's kind of pricey) in this series, I'd want that with the head. Maybe that and a 12" cab. The combo of 15" and 12" speakers kind of intrigues me.

Cool! 8) Now, let the madness begin. So what have you decided for your cabs?

I gotta pay for the head first. Will not be getting the Rumble 410 cab. At some 75+ pounds it is simply too heavy for me to lift up and down flights of stairs and into & out of my Jeep. I am nearly 60 & single and have no help for this, so I have to do things all on my own.

Will not be getting a mixed driver stack of 2x8 & 112

I have always liked the sound of 15's better than 10's. The 12" Neo Cabs appeal to me. Two of these and the Rumble 350 head weigh less than the Rumble 350 2x10 combo. Volume should be about the same, but isn't my main concern. Tone is.

I would love to be able to audition a 2x8 stack, and put it through its paces. I happen to LOVE agressive attack in a bass and especially the amp. So quick transient response gives the punch; bite, bark, & spank that I value. Gougedeye said in another thread that he thought a stack of the 2x8's would be "killer".

I have time to decide, and this thread should help in the decision making process.

Hey, I might be able to swing using a 2x 2x8 stack in the near future, but it will be a little while. I don't know what your time frame is, but I'll let you know what I can, when it happens.

Thanks Bass Bro! :) When you listen to each cab seperately, what stands out most about each one? Also what might be missing in one may be present in the other.

Are the cabs so well designed to compliment one another that I would be remiss in not going with a mixed driver stack?

Only Gougedeye has this stack on this forum that I am aware of, and he has lived with and gigged it. So I value your opinion and your first hand knowledge. There is no substitute live experience. 8)

Yeah, I don't blame you about the 4x10" cab. I wouldn't be too thrilled in hauling it around, either, but I would if I had to. This is another reason I got the combo instead, besides the cost. It's around 65 pounds, but with the side handles, it's not that bad to carry. It has wheels, too, but the only time I use them is when I move it around the room. I'm 6'3" tall, so it's easier for me to carry the thing than drag it around any distance, which is kind of awkward for me since it's kind of low to the ground.

It would be cool if they made a 15" cab with this series, but they probably won't. I'll bet the 12"s would probably be your best bet, since you prefer 15" speakers. Then again, who knows about those 8" cabs? I've been curious about them, too, since I've never played through them. They could be a total surprise. Before I started using 10"s, I'd never thought anything smaller than the 15"s on their own. I would still love to have an 18" cab, because I'm kind of old school like that. :P I don't think hardly anyone makes them anyone, except for PA subwoofers. I know Carvin still does.

I just checked the poll, since I haven't voted (I'll vote with my $$$).
2/3rds vote for the mixed driver 2x8 & 112 stack.
1/3rd for the twin 112 stack.

The dual 2x8 stack gets no love. Perhaps there's no confidence in the Eminence 8" Neo woofers. I want to hear 'em! And at stage volume too with a drummer (but nobody else).

  One option I have is to order the mixed driver stack and give them a work out: together and separately. Then decide: A) Keep the mixed stack B) Return a cab in exchange for the desired matching cab. It's expensive having to eat the shipping and possibly taking a hit on a re-stocking fee should the returned cab be deemed less than pristine somehow or damaged in shipment.

these cabs respond they way I expect them to! the 2x8 is really punchy with a quick attack and rebound. I turn off the tweeter in this cab, the highs can be too much. The 1x12 is warmer, as one would expect. Still punchy, just not as much. I leave the tweeter on in this and its fine. Like I said for smaller venues, ie coffee shops, etc. either cab would be fine. I'll let you know how they work, when I get to double up on either or both of these cabs. Maybe I could get 2 each of both cabs and run my SB 300 through them. Hmm, I wonder... :D

Thanks for the report, especially about those 2x8" drivers. I've been curious about them since I've never heard those. The 12" setup I'm already familiar with from past experience.

I like my 4x10 cab and it works well with the 69 Bassman as well as the Rumble 350 head. I'm 6'2" and I do wish it had some top handles. would be easier to roll around.

Yeah, or maybe rig some sort of bar going across like they have on some big cabs like an 8x10" or 2x15" set up. You could just grab it and wheel it. Although, that might not be practical because it's not as tall, and I suppose you could do the same thing with one of those dolly carts they have out. Speaking of which, those might be a good investment, since I have some gigs coming up. I could load the amp some other gear and save a trip or two.
