I would have got the 350 head and the 4x10" stack if it were not for two things: The combo was $200 cheaper (before any rebates were in place) and I liked the idea of having a single, contained unit. Mostly, it was the price that made me decide. At the time, $200 was too much extra to consider. If I were to get a Rumble stack, I'd probably go for the 4x10" because it would be similar to the combo, but an extra 2x10"s. Although, the 12"s might be tempting (if I could afford it) for something different. A 2x12" would be even better for me so I don't have to carry extra speakers. I have no clue about 8" speakers. I used to think 10"s were small enough for bass, because I kind of had that old school mentality of bass speakers. The bigger the better. I still do like 18"s, though, especially combined with 10"s.

Just bringing this older Rumble 350 thread back for a moment -

I recently purchased a Schecter Stiletto Elite 5 - five string bass. The performance of the Schecter through the Rumble 350 daisy chained into the Bassman 250-210 is about the best mid-sized gig setup that I have heard or used myself in many years.

Any other Schecter owners like to comment on your setups with Fender heads, cabinets or combo's?

I own the 350 head and love it. The carry case is really handy. I keep an extra power cord in the pocket. I feel that any more volume needed would have to come from a PA. The 350 head is a marvel of good sound and price. I had a GK 800RB and never quite got a tone that I really liked. The Rumble seems incapable of producing a sound that is not pleasing to my ear. The parametric style middle control can make subtle and/but profound changes to the overall tone of the sound.

Did I say there is much love for this amp? :P

YES!!!!!

I use it all the time. I picked one up on clearance during the summer and I haven't used my Littlemark II since. This is my go to amp head. I play it through two TC Electronic RS210 cabs so I am using all of the power the head can produce. I Play an L-2000 or my beloved Fender Jazz with flats. Either way, this head satisfies in a big, big way. I used it last night for a gig in a bar/restaurant. We were told to lower the volume and I still had a lot of head room. Get one and you won't be disappointed. There are guys who won't play any Rumble named products. There are guys who will only play the expensive heads that all the bassist rave about on Talkbass. See for yourself.

Agreed there are a lot of Fender haters and a lot of anti-Fender hate talk to include outright lies especially when it comes to Fender's Rumble line of bass amps & combos. Yet the Rumble 410 cabinet routinely receives high praise and they take the Fender Bass Amplification badging off because they are too embarrased to be seen playing a Fender Rumble. Such Hypocrites!

I use relatively no-name cabs from Seismic Audio and have no problem with their badge/logo on the cab. It is what I am playing and how I sound that matters. Corporatism has made people with skewed value systems. Where a brand is prestige instead of the person. It is hypocritical. It is also sad.

I must say the the 4x10 cab has to be one of the best bass cab deals there are. The SCX2 cab for 199.99 with a 12' Celestion in it is another great value. Even the Tweed cab for the HRD's with the same speaker but a bigger, better made cab for 299.99 is something that is hard to refrain from purchasing just because it is such a good deal. I can build a reasonably decent cab, but tolexing and a nice grill cloth would be stretching my talents. Possibly patience too.

Thinking a Fender Rumble cab is something to hide is how deep the programming of the boutique equipment makers has succeeded for some portion of the musical population.

Here is a pic for some snobs.

Indeed. When it comes down to it, the music is what matters. I will say even though I have the combo version that I love, you guys have me G.A.S.sing for one of those heads so I could run it through some twin 15"s for some old school fun. I know old school hauling would probably put a damper on things, but still.

I just picked up a Diamond J Bass yesterday so you can add me to the club. I haven't had the chance to even plug it into the Rumble yet, but I'm sure it will be quite exquisite. I have to say that the Schecter is the best bass I've played in 20 years! I can't believe the workmanship on it. The best part is I got it for dirt cheap at AMS, since it was a scratch and dent. The funny thing was there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, other than the box being open. Maybe they did that because it wasn't technically "new" because it was out of the box, or the box wasn't sealed. Go figure. It was actually put into three boxes and padded. Judging the how the bass was built (like a brick $@!& house with a neck and action like butter,) they actually give a $@!& about quality control, unlike it being hit or miss (with a definite big miss) like you know who. :P

I also ordered a Schecter (hmm, it sounds like somebody is jumping ship a little bit around here :P) Ultra VI, which I got another tremendous deal on, but AMS didn't have any, so it will take a couple more days to arrive. This is to replace that Squier Bass VI that was a waste of a tree.

I still love my Rumble and my Squier Custom Tele, so it's not all bad as far as Fender is concerned. The Squier Vintage Modified Jazz isn't horrible (it sounds really good,) but I never was too comfortable with the neck (too thin and I wasn't crazy about the neck finish in combination with that fact) and I feel the Schecter is just more suited to me. Plus, it has 21 frets, which is the main reason I bought it. I need that high "E" for a song I play live. I'll probably either relegate it to back up, or try to sell it.
