Hello! I have an electrical based question.

I want to use this Rumble Head (150W)
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifie ... s-amp-head

with this Peavy Bass Amp (20W)
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifie ... bass-combo

Now by logic, the 150W of the Rumble head will hit the 20W limit of the Peavy Amp quite quickly with the very probable risk of blowing out the Amp's speaker. Will it be possible to use this head for some low volume playing, or is the risk just too large?

Thank you!!!

Yeah that head will pretty much "rumble" that speaker to smithereens.

You'd be much better off getting some cheap used cab (Peavey, for example) for roughly what that little amp will cost and running that head that way. If you own both already, then I'd suggest trying to sell the Peavey (you'd probably won't get much, though) and use the money towards such a purchase. That's what I'd do, at least. Like everyone else suggested, I wouldn't recommend trying your idea, unless you want to see some potential mayhem ensue.

This sounds like an old FIRE MARSHALL BILL routine, which usually began "Let me show you something...."

This would be like towing a Radio Flyer coaster wagon with a rocket sled.

You should put the local fire brigade on standby before hitting power on.

Oh, and roll video for YouTube. I'd like to watch. From a safe distance of course.

No, I am not 13, but rather am a 20 year old man looking for the knowledge from what seems to be a few immature musicians. Much thanks to those who gave an honest and helpful answer.

You're killin' me here, BD!

And to the OP......

Relax. All musicians are quirky (it's in our nature). You got your answer, albeit at some affront to your dignity. Stick around and in a few months you'll have learned so much here that you'll be pulling some newbie's leg with the rest of us when some seemingly impossible situation is highlighted by a forum member's question.

And welcome aboard.

I don't think think I've ever seen "China Syndrome," but for some reason right now I just thought of "The Red Green Show" after reading Brother Dave's comments.

Pretty sure the Peavey is a little practice/bedroom combo amp. With that head you need a decent cab. Like a Rumble cab. The Rumble 410 cab (just one of them) is the best choice to use with Rumble heads.
