I have recently purchased a Fender Rumble 150 amp.
Bought it for the "Fender" quality, appearance and price.
Great sounding amp....
Can I add a external speaker jack?
I have a 2X10 cab, 4ohm that I would like to add
for some of our larger gigs...
Is adding a extra jack possible?
Thanks

Technically, not without voiding the warranty. Once that period has elapsed, a good amp tech should be able to add one for you.

Bear in mind I have a Rumble 350 head. Not sure about where on the 150 combo you would put a speaker out jack. That being said, if your tech can find a spot, you could install a combo 1/4 inch/Speakon jack that would allow for either style of cable.

You'll also need to find out what the proper impedance is best for that amp. The 150 and 350 "heads" both put out maximum power into a 4ohm load. I would suspect the combo version to be the same, but one can never "assume" that to be the case.

You would NOT want to combine an external with the internal as that would drop the total impedance too low for the amp. So, you would disconnect the internal, install a switch, or wire the jack for the external to automatically disconnect the internal speaker.

As I said, a competent tech can perform this, it's not a difficult thing to do. But I would wait until your warranty is up unless you don't care about those things.

That is a 4 Ohm amp with a built in 4 Ohm speaker.

You should NOT add a speaker out jack the way it sits without the jack MUTING the built in speaker.

One option. You could CHANGE the speaker to an 8 Ohm speaker, install a parallel jack, and then plug an 8 Ohm cab into it which would give a 4 Ohm total load. That would be safe but probably more than I'd spend on it. Plus you could not use the 4 Ohm cab you want to use and the combo's built in speaker simultaneously.

So I am going to say instead do the next option.

With Rumble heads being so reasonable it makes far more sense to direct out from your combo to another head while the other head pushes more cabs. That is the way I'd go with it. If you do this then you'd also have a backup amp. A Rumble 150 head brand new is $250 about anywhere in the USA. It doesn't have to be a new one. It doesn't have to be a Rumble 150 head either. Just whatever reasonably potent head you can find reasonable.

Feeding to another head makes way more sense all around. That is the best solution to use that existing 4 Ohm cabinet.

I would go ahead and get a Rumble 150 head to compliment your Rumble 150 combo.

 Here's why  You can utilize your 2 X 10 cab much more efficiently and tailor the tone to the cab and blend the volumes independently. You can't do that with a single head and two very different sets of speakers.

You could dial in the tone of your combo for maximum low end umph! Shear Tonal Thrust.

Then dial in the tone of your Rumble 150 head & 210 cab for miximum punch or spank or bark!

You just can't do that with a single bass amp.

Plus you can blend and tailor the volume as needed. A single 15" woofer doesn't move as much air as two 10" woofers. You can adjust the volume as needed.

Thrust & Spank

 Here's the main reason why  Actually there is no other reasonably sane way to do it. The other options stink like....well like Alfafa doing his Tiny Tim thing.
