Since I have taken up temporary residence in a house with an old drummer with a rehearsal/recording studio in the garage, I have gotten to play just about every day for a little over a month now. My drummer has a full set and we are playing just the two of us with playback on the monitors of recording occasionally. I have to say I am extremely pleased with my amp. My drummer also finds it to be a tone machine. I have my bigger cabs and power amps to extend my "reach' if necessary, but so far, even the local club will be more than cover by what the bronco is capable of. The line out allows it to add just the little extra into a PA if presence is required. I find putting the bass rig in the corner of the room the stage is on makes the two walls act as a reflex cab. A trick I learnt in my club days when using a buzzy 12" speaker. I put it in the corner pointing towards the wall and turned it up. Problem solved.

This Bronco 40 category needs some serious love.

This category is pathetic.

Well, here is a live recording my drummer and I did last night. Built in mikes of a Tascam DP-004. I am using the Bronco with the 59 Bassman setting.

For just 40 watts and a single 10" woofer in compact cab that Bronco 40 sounds damn good especially knowing you had it cranked. :)

Master at 3 o'clock, but gain at 10 o'clock.(9:30 :?: ) Thanks for the feedback. I constantly ask my drummer if is sounds as good to him as it does to me and he says it sounds really good.

Thanks for adding some life to a very weak category. I'm surprised they haven't discontinued the amp. Unless it sells well but owners are not taken seriously because it's a modeling amp  and therefore just enjoy and keep quiet. Zero bragging rights apparently. Fark 'em. This amp is one of my smarter purchases. Headphones and the FX are more fun than words can convey.

Yeah, there's almost no action down here in Bronco 40 land. Damn shame, really.

The lil b'amp must sell well enough that Fender keeps making it, and it must be better than the old B-DEC.

I've never seen or heard one in real life. I don't even have a music store in my small southern town.

Thanks for posting about your Bronco 40. I'm a guitar player that OWNS a MIM Fender P Bass, (not necessarily good at playing it, though!) and my 13 year old daughter showed interest in playing bass. I got her a Squier P Bass and a Crate practice amp, but her interest was a great excuse for me to buy a Bronco 40, haha. I have basement jam sessions with a few guys, and we get pretty loud. Drums, small PA for vocals, a Fender DRRI and a Tweed Deluxe clone going loud and proud. The Bronco got a little lost in the mix in that setting, but honestly, we just play to darn loud! I've used the Bronco while going through some Truefire Bass courses, trying to learn how to be more than a I-V I-V guy when I get to sit in on Bass, and the Bronco is more than enough, shaking the ceiling tiles in my office. I am also a fan of the Mustang series of amps, owning a Mustang I and III. It's a great time to be a musician, as Fender has made some very cool stuff for very little $$. Keep rockin' on, bro!

Time to put something in this thread, so a little observation. I am not sure what kind of speaker is in the Bronco, but it sure works well with this amp. I have the xlr out to run into my power amp and bigger cabs to extend for bigger venues. If I ever moved up to a simple carry amp for bigger settings, it looks like the Rumble 350 2x10 would be my choice. The reviews for that amp are nothing short of glowing. After 15 years of being out of the biz the Bronco was a re-entry amp for me. I have a Hartke 60 watt also that I got in a trade for my old Peavey 1x18 with a 2x10 top that I used with my old GK 800RB bi-amp. GK tone was never my favorite, although the amp was very powerful and clean.

Back to the Bronco, the tones it is capable of are very pleasing. I love it for recording and practice too. Perfect for any size room. Even a 12x13 tent, which is my current home.

The picture is 2 years old. I have a better tarp this year. Tent is the same.

Thanks. :D I believe it is a good speaker. Love the Red Fang I put in my SCX2. The American speaker companies are putting out good stuff. Weber is very good. WGS is unknown to me, as far as use, but seems to be a very respectable company as well.

As long as the corporations don't get too big, quality tends to stay good. Once the bloodsuckers, I mean shareholders, get their feeding tubes inserted into a company it is quality death by parasitism.

Just my observation. I could be wrong. After all, I'm not a pathological liar, er, I mean economist.

James, I just wanted to say that was an excellent review that you wrote of the Bronco 40. I enjoyed reading it and it made me want to audition one in person. 8)

Thanks Linin,......it's really a cool little amp, I'm still learning new things that the Bronco 40 has to offer,.....I'm not sure I'll ever use it in a live situation, the reason being I also have an SWR rig consisting of a Headlite, Amplite, Goliath Jr. 2x10, Golight 4x10, & Workingpro 4x10......my SWR set up is a versatile rig that I can use it in various combinations,....but still I think you should audition a Bronco 40 in person :) It's a great little amp to record with, practice with & jam with buddies or use at an intimate gig .....

I agree with the comments on the bronco40. I've owned the 40 for about 6 months and I must say it is very impressive. The sounds and effects are very realistic and can be addictive. I have used mine the last two sundays in our church band. The sound is bigger than the amp. And the tone is very good. The line-out is a plus if you need the house. I've been playing bass since I was 12, I'm 60 now. I have owned a lot of power amps and cabs in my life and technology is a good thing. The fuse software used with this amp is very simple and easy to use.

That was also a very good review you posted, Gary4. 8) As much as people here come and go, I think it is special to have experienced players that own these amps available for those interested to ask questions. It's an invaluable resource.
