I recently purchased a Rumble 350 Head and I am playing it through an RS210 cab. I don't think that I'm getting the best sound out of the head and I'd like to know from others here if they have any experience with this head and a Rumble cab. Like, which one are people using? Is the RS210 cab just not the right one to use with the 350? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does the impedance match up for the head, and cab?

Good point. With the Rumble heads it is advisable to use a 4 Ohm cab or a pair of 8 Ohm cabs to provide a total of a 4 Ohm load. If the RS210 the OP lists is the TC Electronics RS210 then that is an 8 Ohm cab stock.

Adding another 8 Ohm cab is a good idea to get to 4 Ohms. Otherwise you aren't getting 350 watts at all.

Those TC cabs are rear ported also. I prefer front porting as it projects better and sounds louder in front to me. That is just my preference. I've never used rear ported cabs but have used rear ported combos and wished they were front ported.

I just purchased a Rumble 410 cabinet. Its got the tone I want and the only drawback was that its a much bigger cab then I wanted. I think it sounds better to me then the two RS210 cabs together. I just have to work it out this weekend with the band and see if its good enough for gigs.

Yeah the Rumble 4x10 cab is front ported and 4 Ohms. If you are only going to use one cab with that head then that one is a good one to use.

It may seem heavy at 76 lbs but other non-Neo 4x10 cabs actually come in much heavier and Neo 4x10 cabs only a little lighter.

When everything including price is taken into consideration that Rumble 4x10 is a good cab in general. There are better cabs of course including the Fender Bassman line but they cost substantially more. With a Rumble 350 Head the Rumble 4x10 is more than adequate and is a perfect match.

Well, the results are in. The Rumble 410 is a winner!!!!

Seriously. I got the sound I wanted from this big boy. Lots of fat deep low end that had me happy all night. I experimented with some of the EQ but for the most part I had it set flat and a little bump in the bass knob on the amp head. Set around 2 o'clock.

Besides it being big and heavy, its definitely a keeper. Its the first rig I've owned that gives me what I want.

I agree with BD. I never really saw the advantage to rear porting in a cab, other than it takes up less space to have the ports on the back panel, not taking up space on the front speaker board. Keeping the cab size more compact that way.

I bought the 4x10 cab for both my Rumble 350 head and my '69 Bassman which absolutely requires a 4 ohm cab. I love the sounds. I was worried that the 10 inch speakers just wouldn't have the bass response I wanted. But boy was I surprised. It's everything I wanted. 8)

Cool about the 410 cab. A 410 cab with the right head is good amp.

so how many watts does it put out into an 8ohm cab?......generally about half or less I think(?)....

The Rumble 350 head puts out 221 watts into 8 ohms at 100Hz according to the Fender schematic. 400 watts into 4 ohms at 100Hz.

Over at that place where they talk an awful lot about bass, one person claimed that the power sections of the Rumble 350 and the Genz-Benz 600 were absolutely identical. How true this assertion may be is unknown to me.

ICEpower is THE reason manufacturers can offer warranties as long as they do.

The only caution I advise is not to knock them around. The chokes are heavy and can render the whole board junk with one good bump. The last thing you want soldered to a delicate PCB, especially with the second-rate solder the uplifters have convinced everyone to use these days, is an accelerating choke. I would like to see manufacturers shock-mount these boards in their chassis rather than bolt them directly to the metal fab, but I don't know if anyone's doing that.

craig.p, what are these "chokes" of which you speak?
