 I want to put this out there to hopefully get other people to ask for it to. I would like to see a John Paul Jones Signature Jazz Bass Come out of Fenders Factorys. I think he deserves a signature Jazz Bass. He is more fit to have a signature series bass then mick dirnt or nate mandel or even Mark Hoppus. Not saying they are bad bass players but i think JPJ deseves one more then any other bass player out there. If you agree with me please replay and give your thoughts.

I agree he is definitely worthy of a bass in is name. So, we could find out what kind he played, ask for a model like that and keep his name off of it. It will cost extra.

I love his playing. He was somewhat of an influence but he and I shared a common bass player we liked. James Jamerson. Tim Bogert also had that influence. It is what made them unique amongst the other rock monster bass players. James had a way of playing around with the time signature that can only be felt. You either 'get it' or you don't.

I intend to get a Jazz bass at some point. Got my eyes on a modern player. The Chinese necks are so smooth. It is the one common comment I read about Modern Player guitars. I own a MP Jaguar and it puts the neck of my Amer. Standard Tele to shame. It is like one was made by artists and the other by someone who was texting at the time. I also prefer 21 frets. I like that E note at the top of the G string. I use it.
At the price of the modern player, I can use the bass when a more subdued approach is called for. I love my Ibanez SR600. I want a passive pups bass though.

Wondered if you read my post here in reply to another post you made on this exact same topic? http://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=83580 Doesn't really matter how many ask for it. If he goes back to playing Fender exclusively maybe it will work out. He's not currently a Fender endorsing artist.

If you want to talk "deserving" then there are other deserving artists who won't have a Fender Artist Series instrument. I know at least one that played on way more hit records than JPJ and they aren't getting one either. They would "deserve" one too but it isn't happening.

Wondering what this has to do with Bronco amps too?
