Within 48 hours, the amp failed. The jewel light went out, the cooling fan does not power up. No sound, but the tubes have power. All fuses are good.

I was a little surprised that Fender's supposed "Pro Series" amp is manufactured in Mexico. This is not mentioned in any of the literature, but is stamp prominently on the box when you receive it.

But before it failed, here are my impressions. The passive tone stack on the vintage channel does not really sound any better than my old Bassman 70 head. The "active" channel is really confusing - not technically, but tonally because it doesn't add any value other than drive - which is, if you're like me, something I rarely use and can get out of a $40.00 pedal.

I look forwarding to returning this amp and getting almost $2,000.00 of my hard earned money back.

I took a look at the 100T but decided it had more widgets than I needed. As well, recent QA/QC problems with many new amps gave me pause so I bought a 33-Y/O silverface Bassman 135 instead. After a re-tube and an idle-bias adjustment it's prolly ready to rock for another twenty years.

Actually, it seems to me that the passive vintage EQ is supposed to sound like the 65 - 70's amps. "Vintage Cut." The gain channel should be both boost and cut. Too pricey for me though. I'm happy with the '69 Bassman

+1

They built them solid back then.
